Visit Chicago in the summer months and it looks just like a postcard.
Anyone driving down Kedzie in the direction of the Evanston Target at 2209 W. Howard St., could see the two teenagers. While many couples spend days working on a romantic spot with that special someone, those two cozied up on a fire hydrant. She sat on his lap with her chest turned facing him and they whispered to each other, kissing and giggling. While drivers rolled their eyes seeing the couple on a corner fire hydrant, those two probably imagined they were somewhere romantic and private.
So what makes a good romantic spot? Everyone's meeting spot isn't the same. While one woman may find there's no better place than a fine dining restaurant she and her husband celebrated for their anniversary, her husband may be just as content wiping lipstick off his face at a sports bar where they had their first date.
Everyone's idea of romance is different, but here are the top 10 romantic Chicago kissing spots from the Chicago Relationship Examiner's perspective.
Kissing Spot #1: Lake Michigan, You can hear the water in the background, sit by "the lakefront" (what Chicagoans solely call it) and watch the sun go down. Bring a blanket and comfortable beach attire.
Kissing Spot #2: The glass skydeck on the 103rd floor at the Willis Tower, If you're not scared of heights, this is the perfect way to be affectionate in front of all of Chicago 1,353 feet in the air.
Kissing Spot #3: Buckingham Fountain, At night while the water is splashing out it also changes colors making it all the more fascinating to watch before the smooching begins. Sit on the Buckingham Fountain steps or stand in front of the fountain's gate.
Kissing Spot #4: Boat, Rent a boat for the day and sail around the lakefront. Depending on how big the boat is, it might be a little awkward to get too affectionate. Don't get too frisky and tip over!
Kissing Spot #5: The Bean, Your reflection might look a little weird kissing in front of "The Bean," but if you're into "watching" yourself, this'll be fun.
Kissing Spot #6: Navy Pier, Although 2010 is the 30th anniversary for the Taste of Chicago, unfortunately there will be no fireworks on July 3rd. However, Navy Pier will not disappoint on July 4th. Hang out at the pier and bring chapstick and lip gloss while the fireworks go off.
Kissing Spot #7: Navy Pier ferris wheel, If you can handle the Willis Tower, you can handle going on the 150-foot Navy Pier ferris wheel. Kiss at the top. Enjoy the view.
Kissing Spot #8: Tony Tasset's "Eye," It may have its eye on you, but it's not like you can be put on punishment for it. Smooch in front of the new Chicago attraction staring at you from State St., and Van Buren.
Kissing Spot #9: Chocolate kiss at Hershey Chicago or Ghirardelli's, Take a stroll down the Magnificent Mile. Try something sweet from candy to hot chocolate to ice cream at one of the Chicago candy stores. Lick the chocolate off your sweetie's lips. The latter suggestion is highly recommended, and it tastes nice, too.
Kissing Spot #10: Hyde Park Jazz Festival, This makes the second year that the Hyde Park Alliance for Arts & Culture (HyPa) will be celebrating through music. While the smaller events happening from February to August mainly have small, cozy crowds, the big jazz event on Sept. 25 will have 13 music venues and over 150 artists. You'll have room to dance, enjoy the performances from outside locations, sit in inside locations and sneak a smooch or two. Click here for past events.

A la # 4, my husband and I eloped on a rowboat in a pond...23 years ago. But, the big news is you just doubled attendance at the Hyde Park Jazz Festival. Thanks, Montie!
Hi Deanna, thanks for checking this entry out. I started to send you all the link, but I didn't want to overdo it with the links. Doubled attendance? Man, I'm trying to triple it. I'll have to try harder next time. *smile* I am seeing some heavy activity on my Relationships page so I do hope people take advantage of the jazz fest. I think HyPa is doing an excellent job, always professional, punctual and relaxing. As far as you and your husband, at the risk of sounding like Paris Hilton, "That's hot." I was on a rowboat one time when I was in Canada, and I was so nauseous. I couldn't WAIT to get off. I loved Toronto and Ontario, but riding around in a boat was not for me. Congrats on the 23 years though. That is huge. Keep 'em coming!
