Actor Lance Gross treats supporters out to lunch, Twitter celebrity lunch date

Remember when getting a signed photo and a thank you note from your favorite celebrity was a big deal? You thought you'd struck it big to take a photo hugging him or holding his hand. Now imagine your favorite celebrity taking you out to lunch just from simply responding to a tweet. Actor Lance Gross (popular for his role as Calvin on "Tyler Perry's House of Payne") is showing his appreciation to Twitter followers and fans by taking them to lunch.

Apparently Lance Gross, who was also in the film "Our Family Wedding," tweeted about taking a supporter to lunch and Twitter user i_Tash reminded him. Her tweet said, "What happened to @lancegross taking his supporters out to lunch?? *cleared my calendar* #imjustsayin"

To her surprise, Lance Gross responded with a tweet, "Almost forgot that I said I was taking some supports out to lunch this week! @i_Tash just reminded me. So @i_Tash I'm takin u 2 lunch"

The amusing part was in her response. First reaction Tweet was o_O. Second reaction Tweet was "Pause." Third reaction Tweet was "Am I the only 1 that saw that tweet?? *rubs eyes*" Then, "Well Mr. @lancegross I'm there! :D" But the most amusing one was "Bout to go play the lotto!!!!"

While i_Tash was pondering on her luck, Lance Gross decided to take a second Twitter user out, which turned out to be Twitter user MizzMiranda86. Her response: "Woot woot RT @LanceGross: The next supporter is @MizzMiranda86 :)"

As great as the idea sounded, many may have wondered would he actually follow through. Both ladies are pretty and he may have had good intentions, but would he really take them to lunch? Like clockwork, the very next day Lance Gross did just that and proved it by retweeting a photo of MizzMiranda86 out with her friend.

His tweet earlier today: "I keep my word. Just left my appreciation lunch with @MizzMiranda86 & her friend @Keptup ! Very kool ladies. http://twitpic.com/29trp0"

"The best part was everything," tweeted MizzMiranda86 (real name Miranda Colette) to Shamontiel, the Chicago Relationships Examiner. "He was a gentleman, sweetheart, funny and just down to earth! Real cool guy."

Gossip magazines, there's nothing to see here. It was just a friendly lunch, but it must've been quite the surprising treat for those who were chosen.

And apparently he enjoyed himself because he's going to do it again. Ladies from Atlanta, get ready for Lance Gross to (maybe) take you out to lunch. His latest tweet: "Atlanta is next! I'ma take out 5 Supporters in atlanta! I'll let you know when I'm about to pick. It'll be the weekend of Aug 7th..."

i_Tash's lunch date with Lance Gross will be coming up soon. There's been no word about treating Chicago ladies out, but for the optimistic Chicagoan supporters, it may only be a matter of time.

Now what could beat that? Mr. Gross is clearly gorgeous, newly single and appreciative of his supporters. What a nice way to end their Twitter Day!

It's cool meeting famous people. I'm a huge Prince fan and had the chance to chat with him after a show. Of course, I did most of the talking! LOL

Oh good lord, was Prince even friendly to you? Every time I see him in an interview, he always looks so arrogant. I remember him being really rude to Ellen DeGeneres when she gave him her famous "Ellen" boxers and did everything but hold them up between two fingers and hold his nose. I felt bad for her. I didn't understand why he wouldn't perform on the BET Awards for his 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award. Was he nice to you even though you were doing all the talking? As far as it being cool to meet famous people, ditto! If you click on that D.L. Hughley link, you'll see all the celebs I've met. Minus two, I enjoyed meeting and interviewing ALL of them but I never disclosed the two that I didn't. Out of respect for them (and maybe they were just having a bad day), I will promote regardless of my personal feelings. So far I've only interviewed artists that I was a supporter of though.
