Flipping through the channels on the treadmill, I stopped on The Tyra Banks Show. I was in the mood for some mindless entertainment to help me “zone out” during my workout. The ridiculous antics of Tyra (which I have coined as “Tyrantics”) always prove to divert my attention from life and all proactive thought. I am generally just shocked, astonished and startled by her constant and inappropriate pelvic thrusting and neck jerking. It’s like watching a bull bucking around after the cowboy has roped the calf at a rodeo. Anyway, I digress. The show’s topic was “Open Marriage”. Miraculously, my brain regained thought processes, and I began to mull over this idea (despite the hippy characters preaching open hearts and love on my TV screen).
Marriage, as defined by Wikipedia (the people’s encyclopedia) is “an institution in which interpersonal relationships are acknowledged by the state, religious authority, or both.” Marriage is a union of 2 people (man and woman, man and man, woman and woman – I really don’t care) and while traditional marriages have changed over time, there is one main concept that remains unaltered; Sexual relations outside of the marriage are referred to as adultery and are usually treated as a crime, regardless of approval by the other spouse. The world religions generally call this a sin, and people generally call it disgusting.
So these 4 people on the Tyra Banks Show were openly discussing how they’ve agreed, along with their spouse, that it’s okay to have sex with other people, outside of their marriage. As I continued to think about who and when and how this would work…I became even more disgusted. I usually tend to side with the notion of “to each his own,” but not on this one. It just seems sleazy and dirty. There’s something I like about the social constructions of right and wrong in regards to extra-marital affairs. Keep it in your pants. Perhaps Tyra’s ridiculous raging and jerking around was due to the same uncomfortable feelings I had regarding the topic of Open Marriages. If your husband or wife proposed the idea, would you buck around like a wild bull too?

Nothing but trouble; guaranteed.
la verdad me parece muy bien lo que hizo, eso demueetra a los ineptos que se creen mejir que todos para burlase de persinas qu valen oro.
One thing is give your opinion, another one is offend people and they work or choices as youre doing with Tyra and her guests. Keep that in mind...
If you are adults about it and consider the fact that more than fifty per cent of divorces occur because of adultery. Its easy to see how two adults can make a decision to have an open marriage. the fact is you will not be attracted to one person forever and there are ppl that will enter your life at some point who may have that affect on you. Personally I'd rather be honest about it and let the other person know. and I would rather the let me know also. Love is unconditional. and sometimes you may share that feeling with someone outside of your relationship. Its not about the sex alone. Its about the connection.
and honesty
man your a bitch
u stink
To Faith: By your logic, since murderers are gonna kill people anyway, perhaps we should just legalize murder and create a class of people to be the sacrificial lambs of people who need to fulfill their urge to murder, right? Planet Earth has a human birth ratio of 1 to 1, which means that there is exactly ONE female for every male out there who THINKS he deserves his five. He only gets his five when I have no one. Eff that!
Your just a plain Tyra hater. You stink balls. And people need to get over themselves let the gay marry, its not causing any harm to you really and if it is, just stop thinking about it. As humans we were given the ability to evolve, its what we've done with time, its what we do. We all know its going to happen-the gay don't give up easily:)
I love Tyra, I admire her for all her accomplishments. One of which- is a talk show that allows people to listen to what interests them. The interest may be because you agree, or disagree...but either way- she's giving the public what they want. Isn't that what every good business-person should do, please their clients? As far as the whole "bucking like a bull" thing is considered...it's irrelevant. So her demeanor isn't similar to yours- isn't that what makes us all different? You can be for or against same-sex marriage, what does that have to do with how Tyra carries herself? You should do a little research on Ms. Banks- maybe you'd have a little more respect for her. She's a strong woman that isn't afraid to speak her mind. She has handled herself, as well as many tough public situations, in a very stand-up manner. I have much respect for this woman.
To everyone above, not including the writer of the original text, read it again! She's not putting Tyra down in any way. Nor is she saying ANYTHING about same sex marriage is wrong or bad. She's simply saying that an "Open Marriage," is not okay. I AGREE!!! I saw the episode you were referring to in said original text and I was baffled! I can't believe anyone could truly be happy or in love with their spouse if they are having relations with other people outside of the marriage, especially if they have children.
Relationship is a union between two people. Eventually you may see somebody interesting and feel attracted to that person and they might feel attracted to you. But it's not worth wasting everything you've built with your partner over the years you two have been together.
Adultery may cause a lot of break ups but eventually that is not the main issue. The main issue is what caused the person to cheat in the first place. Was it lack of affection from your own partner which it often is.
I believe that any relationship can last for the rest of ones life but both of the partners have to work for it. I think that if you keep the affection and the love for one another up in every day life over the long relationships there won't be trouble with adulteries when two people truly love each other...
please have respect for Tyra and stop calling her show mindless entertainment. She is a great entertainer and always goes into zones which people are mostly afraid or uncomfortable to speak about. If you don't like her then switch off your TV!
stop being a Tyra hater, if u can't do what she does shut up and swallow the bitter pill. She's better than you.
