VH1 has released an official statement stating that Megan Wants A Millionaire has been cancelled:
Ryan Jenkins was a contestant on Megan Wants A Millionaire, an outside production, produced and owned by 51 Minds, that is licensed to VH1. The show completed production at the end of March. Given the unfortunate circumstances, VH1 has postponed any future airings. This is a tragic situation and our thoughts go out to the victim’s family.
The show premiered just a few weeks ago, on August 2nd. The contestants had to prove they had a net worth of at least $1 million. The star of the show, Megan Hauserman of Boca Raton, was looking to become a trophy wife. In the most recent episode Sunday, Jenkins and Megan went on a one on one date in which he told the young beauty that he would be willing to marry her without a pre-nup because he is from Canada and is in need of a green card.
The cancellation is due to Ryan Jenkins, one of the contestants on the show, being wanted for the murder of his estranged wife, Playboy Bunny Jasmine Fiore. Jasmine's body was found stuffed in a suitcase and dumped in an LA-area trash bin on Wednesday. Police believe she was murdered Friday or Saturday night. Jenkins reported her missing Saturday night, and has been missing ever since.
