Kate Gosselin's brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Jodi Kreider, spoke with Harry Smith one "The Early Show" about the damage done to their eight nieces and nephews on TLC's "Jon and Kate Plus 8" and their mission to advocate for their welfare.
"It's tragic, and that is why we are continuing to speak out for the children," Jodi Kreider told Harry Smith. "They need to be looked at as the first priority. Damage has already been done."
Jodi Kreider said filming of the children needs to be limited so the kids can have their childhoods. Kreider also called for trust funds to be established for each of the eight Gosselin children and for "ethical guidelines for filming children, because they're filming private moments, such as bathroom time."
What we're seeing now is a family that's in crisis," Kevin Kreider told Smith. "And we fell like TLC needs to be held responsible for what they're choosing to air."
He blamed TLC for trying to cut him off from his sister. "They have control," Kevin Kreider said of TLC. "They're being surrounded by these people that have ... paid positions, and they're kind of like looking for the money rather than the welfare of the children."

I think the sperm donor, aka Jon is disgusting in every aspect as a human, man husband and father. I never cared for him from yhe beginning as he appeared to be a lazy loser and whiner. He is very selfish, in fact narcissus would be an understatement. He has no business being married, much more, fathering children and exploiting them.
How the heck to the Kreiders know how much "damage has been done"? They have said they haven't seen the kids in over a year and a half, only on tv! what a pair of losers they are, selling out their family and EXPLOITING THE 8 KIDS, all to make a fast buck for kevin and jodie.
Funny, these two never felt that way when they were on the show.
I also believe TLC should be held patially responsible for the exploitation of these kids. But, we as viewers need to STOP watching also or be held responsible ourselves for this train wreck continuing. And, YES, regulations have to be made to protect them because God knows, no one else is looking out for them.
I also feel trust funds nned to be eastablished before both of these so called parents blow everything on their own selfish pursuits.

NO the children are NOT being exploited. I believe that Jon and Kate have done a good job in raising the children. They are polite, well mannered, sweet and happy children. They will be no different than other children of divorced parents except that they will have money. Jon & Kate are attentive and normal loving parents to those children. I think the Kreiders should keep their nose out of the Gosselins business. They are just mad that they couldn't cash in on the show.
I don't feel that the children are being exploited. But I do believe that regulations should be implemented when children's lives are being documented in the media.
I've been watching their show since the beginning of this year and the kids look happy and healthy. Unfortunately, their parents may be causing them emotional damage by playing games in the media, due to their recent break up.
The last CBS interview was the best. The couple stayed away from airing any dirty laundry and stayed focused on what is really important- need for new laws for reality TV. I love Harry Smith. He is the best. You could tell the couple felt comfortable in a very uncomfortable situation. I even noticed that Radaronline had to use her positive points since she didn't say anything else! Finally an interview with a purpose. I hope at least ONE elected official comes forward to help them. Keep us posted CBS. Great job!
This is a brother and sister-in-law that have turned against their sister. The only damage to the children would be if they saw aunt Jodi on video calling their mother a cheater. How can they possible help when they have tried to hurt Kate. Could we also go into the lives of the Kreiders to make sure they have trust funds set up for their children.
The Kreider's are full of crap and lies!! They claimed on the Early Show that they haven't seen the family in over a year, and yet they make false claims regarding Kate, Jon, and the kids.
I don't believe a word that comes out of the Kreider's mouths!! I think they lie left and right about the Gosselin family for their own gain.
If they haven't seen the family in over a year, how could they know all the things they claim to know?
They are using this situation for publicity and easy money.
i dont think that they should be doing the show right now because of the kids think about it when these kids get older there going to look back at these shows and see the split of there parents and re live it again you blame tlc i blame kate she wants to keep the show going and i dont agree with what jon has done at all but you have to be kidding yourself if you didnt see this coming did you even watch the shows she dogged him and on top of that nothing he did as good enough she let fame go to her head and you can see that. but more important these kids dont need to be filmed right now everyone needs to take time to heal caz as of right now all you hear from kate is im a single mother i have 8 kids to take care of im not going to lay down and die and her walking around all depressed stop the show take so time to regroup then come back and start over as a new women this cant be good for the kids at all

It is so obvious the Kreider's are using their nieces & nephews for their own publicity to make $$ off these children under the guise, "we care." Please! If they really cared, they would not be portraying the parents, who are supposed to be FAMILY, as bad parents thorugh the media. Love and caring happens in private. My husband (of 22 years) and I had very painful first marriages. This is obviously a painful situation for this family, but TLC (THE LEARNING CHANNEL) with Jon and Kate are showing how parents need to put their personal pain of divorce aside for the children. If they can make a difference for even one other family going through a divorce, or learn how to avoid one, TLC has provided significant vicarious learning for others. Perhaps the Kreider's need to tune into the show to see these children are happy, polite, well adjusted people. Even in divorce, Jon and Kate are working together to put their children's need at the forefront. I JUST started watching and I can see!
I think that everything that the aunt and uncle have had to say is right... when people are givin a chance to make money by using their children on a show and do it the fame goes to their heads and things go to far, just like when a movie star hits it off big time and then you start hearing about drugs and such.. they think they have everything undercontrol and are blind to the truth and everything around them. I was one that started watching the show when it first started and now that i have seen how much has changed and that it is no longer a sweet show showing us who dont have multiple children what its like.. and is now all about ratings and money... ah it just makes me sick. I no longer watch the show and if there is anything that i can do to prevent this from going on and hurting these children that have had childhood cheated from them and lied to their faces... i would be more than happy to help. Kate and Jon always said the children are first and God is too... i dont think so..
I believe that the Kriedler's are sincere in their concern for their neices and nephews. They made some very good points about personal things being aired. They air the children sitting on pottys and take pictures of the kids poop! In one show they aired one of the little girls telling her father she had an accident in her pants, they even aired the poor kid shuffling to the bathroom with her father in tow. Imagine the emarassment these children will feel when they are older. I'm sure that the Kriedler's know alot more, "behind the scenes," things that go on. As for them not seeing the kids in a yr and a half, I'm sure Jon and Kate had something to do with that. God forbid that the public should hear the truth. I agree that Kate and Jon are giving up family for fame and fortune. Shame on them! I don't understand why Childrens services allows this. This potty stuff could really mess these kids up someday and could be considered emotional abuse. God Bless those poor kids. Shame on TLC!
