'Dancing with the Stars:' Carrie Ann Inaba talks GIVE HOPE program, not dancing stars

Judge Carrie Ann Inaba from 'Dancing with the Stars' is not only talking about judging stars and their dance moves, but also about a program close to her heart. The 'Dancing with the Stars' judge is helping to kick off the GIVE HOPE program, for October's Breast Cancer awareness month, a partnership with Procter & Gamble and the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The GIVE HOPE program helps increase women’s chances of survival from breast cancer through early detection.

Carrie Ann stated, "My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, so this cause is very close to my heart. She was lucky to have caught it early and her cancer is in remission. Many people don’t realize that breast cancer has a 98 percent five-year survival rate if detected early, so education and early detection are incredibly important."

On Sunday, September 27th, a special GIVE HOPE edition of the P&G brand-SAVER coupon booklet will be dispursed in newspapers across the country. For every coupon redeemed from that supplement, P&G will donate two-cents to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, whose mission is to save lives through breast cancer education and provide mammograms for women in need.

There are now quick and easy tools busy women can use at www.nationalbreastcancer.org to set up their own plan, which includes e-mail and text message reminders to do self-exams, schedule clinical exams and mammograms. P&G and the National Breast Cancer Foundation has set up an 'early detection plan' to help women create a plan personalized to their specific needs.

Look for your coupon booklet in Sunday's newspaper and use your coupons to help save lives! Did you create your 'Early Detection Plan' yet? Leave your comments below!
