The results are in on "So You Think You Can Dance".  Here's the recap on what went down on the July 2 episode.

The first couples to find out their fate were Karla and Vitolio and Randi and Evan.  I predicted that both couples would end up in the bottom 3.  As it turned out, Vitolio and Karla were the only ones in the bottom 3.  Randi and Evan's broadway number was a bigger success than I thought it would be.

The next couples up were Janette and Brandon; Kayla and Kupono; and Melissa and Ade.  Of course, Janette and Brandon were safe because they are awesome!  Surprisingly, Kayla and Kupono were in the bottom 3.  I liked their dance this week way more than Melissa and Ade's ballet.

The final couples to find out if they were safe or in the bottom were Caitlin and Jason and Jeanine and Phillip.  I predicted that Caitlin and Jason would be in the bottom after their alien dance, but I was wrong.  Jeanine and Phillip rounded off the bottom 3.

So, the bottom three couples were Karla and Vitolio; Kayla and Kupono; and Jeanine and Phillip.  For the solo dances, Karla's interpretative dance was weird for me, but better than last week.  Vitolio's dance was interesting. . . i think.  Kayla's dance was good.  She used kicks - one of the things the judges said they liked from her.  Kupono's dance was like Hawaii on drugs, but I still liked his performance last night.  Jeanine's solo was my favorite of the girls and Phillips solo was my favorite of all the guys.

The judges had a unanimous decision for the girls.  The judges thought Jeanine's solo was the "strongest" of the evening.  They said Kayla was one of the "favorites" and a "brilliant dancer", but that her solo was "static".  The judges said Karla was a "very good dancer", but she hasn't captured the "star quality" and she was sent home.

The judges decision for the guys was also unanimous.  They judges thought Phillip overdid it with his solo performance.  They said Kupono's solo "weak".  They said Vitolio had "great prescence", but in the end he fails to deliver.  Vitolio joined his former partner Asuka and his current partner, Karla, and was sent home.
