After being put up last week, Tennille was far from happy about being nominated, and Amanda was a bit stressed about almost going home. The boys were cheering over how bad the women did, and starting to get a bit cocky... that's never good! Could the ladies take the lead tonight?
The Low Cal Challenge
Chef Ramsay said he puts a low calorie option on every menu for his restaurants. Each team would have to create a 3 item menu that was no more than 700 calories for the entire menu. Robert said "I take 700 calorie bites!" and was worried about cooking without butter, cream and fat. The women embraced the challenge and Sabrina took the lead since she already had a lot of knowledge of low cal dishes from her job at a spa. While the women easily choose all of their ingredients, the men were stuck counting calories for most of their time limit because they kept going over by 100s of calories.
With only 14 minutes left, the men managed to get under the 700 calorie maximum, but were worried about how their food would taste. The appetizers: the ladies made a seared scallop appetizer at 204 calories. Chef said it was nice and he didn't feel "cheated" by it. The men brought up a 156 calorie seafood salad. Chef liked the shrimp and said it was refreshing and light. The entrees: the ladies served cottage cheese/mushroom stuffed pork chops. Chef said the portion control was brilliant and he loved it. The men served a pork cutlet and Chef said it looked like a child's portion and was boring. This put the ladies ahead by 1 point. The dessert: the ladies made a fruit bowl with lemon ricotta cream. Chef said it was zesty, vibrant and refreshing. It came down to the men who served a crepe filled with fruit which made Chef laugh when he saw it. He said it taste foul and it was a joke. The ladies took this win easily.
The men were sent out to buy the ingredients for the ladies dishes so they could serve them tonight while the women headed off to Venice Beach to play volleyball with Annett Davis from the gold medal winning Olympic Volleyball team. After their day at the beach, the women came home to see they each won a vita mix blender. The men were forced to ride a round 6 person bike all the way to the store... that was the strangest bike I've ever seen! Robert felt dizzy after this bike ride and had shortness of breath, so the medic sent him to the ER to get checked out.
Dinner Service
The men had to compete with one man down a Chef informed them Robert would not make it home from the hospital tonight. You would have thought after last season that Robert would have put some effort into his health to avoid this! The men worried this would hurt their performance, but they didn't know Ariel would be screwing up the scallops for the first table. Tennille didn't like being called a lazy cow nor getting yelled at in her face for cooking to much spinach at once. Lucky for the women, Jim was messing up the risotto left and right giving the men a disadvantage.
Tennille couldn't handle it when Chef said she was crap, so she bounced back with "you're crap!" and it was time for Chef Ramsay to kick her out of the kitchen. She left quickly with a few "F you's" on the way out. Chef came out to yell at her some more and she got in his face saying "I'm busting my [butt] for you!" and "You can dish it but you can't take it?" Then she yelled at him to let her back in the kitchen. He got her to shut up and said if "If you can't hack it, F off, if you can, get back in there". The girls had already gotten on to her station because they thought she had quit, but she came back with a vengeance! Good for her! Too many chefs quit too easily, and she fought back and must have run his respect somewhat.
In the men's kitchen, Scott had to make the risotto because Jim kept screwing it up. Sabrina made a chicken that disappeared somehow so she had to search out another one. He didn't seem incredibly mad about this, surprisingly. Dave spaced a bit on the appetizers and Kevin started getting on his back. Back with the women, Sabrina finally found and cooked a chicken but couldn't cut it properly. She blamed Suzanne for telling her how to cut it. The errors went back and forth like this through all of dinner service. Even though the women were sending out food, it was getting sent back raw. Andy was causing lots of trouble with the men by serving undercooked fish. Andy and Sabrina caused their kitchens to shut down because they kept serving raw food.
Both Teams Lost and both had to nominate one person. Sabrina said she screwed up but she didn't walk out like Tennille did. Tennille argued that she came back to help her team and did better when she came back. The men wanted to put up Robert for missing the service, but I knew that wouldn't sit well with Chef Ramsay! The girls finally nominated Sabrina for serving raw pork. It's too bad if she goes home because she is the reason they won the challenge! Then the men tried to nominate Robert. Chef said Robert wasn't there so it wouldn't be fair, but if Robert doesn't come back he's obviously out next service. The men changed it to Andy for all the problems he caused.

Sabrina Andy
After hearing both sides, Chef Ramsay sent Jim home based on the fact that he didn't seem to have the passion for the past x number of services! Andy and Sabrina were saved for another day and Jim left with no emotion.
