Donny and Kym may have took home the Mirror Ball Trophy on Dancing with the Stars last night, but not everyone is happy about it. When reading the Facebook Fan page for Dancing with the Stars, one will note four categories of people: Mya lovers, Donny lovers, Kelly lovers, and those who liked one the best but were happy no matter who won. Regardless of whose side the fans were on, some of the reactions to Donny's win show just how strongly people feel about the stars.

Definitely a surprise to see who won last night!!! I was so glad to see Donny get the trophy instead of Mya!!!! He has shown that he not only deserved that trophy by working hard... but he is also a very modest man! Way to Go!!!! - J. D.

There are hundreds of quotes on all sides of the subject showing just how passionate some fans are about these dancers. Some are even stating they will never watch another season of the show claiming the results were "unfair", while others can't wait for next season. So what does this all mean? Did the best person win? According to many fans - yes he did. According to others - he didn't deserve it. Then there are also plenty of fans saying Kelly should have taken home the trophy since she was the most improved. However as many of the more rational fans have pointed out on the Facebook page, this is a show based on the fans votes, and therefore it may not always come down to who was "the best" at the actual technique of dancing.
In the end, Mya and Donny were completely tied up after all of the judges votes having 115 points each. Kelly was quite a bit behind. Even though many claim Donny only won because of his huge fan base, in reality Donny only needed one vote more than Mya in order to win! One vote could have put him over the top. So while some still claim the judges picked Mya as the winner, it is clear by the tied score that the judges left it completely up to the fans.

I'm glad Donny won. He worked hard and did a great job. It all comes down to the votes of fans so I'll say it was a fair judging.
I agree. The fans decide so you can't be mad just because one star got more votes. This is how it is on these types of shows. I bet you Mya isn't even mad about it.

Do I think it is worth getting upset over? Yes, definitely. To me it is about more than a dance show, it is about fair play. A value that I am disappointed to see seems to be falling out of favor. What I think is unfair is that the producers of this show deliberately set up the show to have talented, experienced dancers up against some that have none. That is what creates all this drama. Are there more important things to get upset about? Sure, but why do you think everyone is escaping to a dance show? We'd all like to express how upset we are and what we think about the economy and swine flu, Iraq, big business....but who listens when you try to talk about that? Frustration over all of that is invested in these shows.
Thank you for pointing out the finals scores! So many people hae been complaining that Mya stole the show and still lost, but in reality, in the finals, they were tied. Mya was not better. People argue that she was the best throughout, but that's no shock - she's a choreographer and does dancing in music videos. She had the advantage from the beginning. It's justice to see that she couldn't beat Donny in scores in the finals - to me, it proves she didn't deserve the trophy.
