Melissa Joan Hart and Louie Vito got eliminated last week in the double elimination. This week two more stars would be eliminated in ANOTHER double elimination! They are really chopping these stars quickly this season. Tonight each star performed two dances - a normal couples dance and a group dance. The stars would also be in charge of the costumes this week. What did the judges have to say? Find out below!
Joanna Krupa & Derek - Rumba - Total Score: 27
Joanna had the highest score last week, but could she bring the romance with goofball Derek in this week's Rumba? Len thought it had something to please each judge. Bruno noted a small stumble but overall liked it. Carrie Ann saw her get caught in her costume but otherwise said she loved watching her.
Kelly Osbourne & Louie - Salsa - Total Score: 24
After a "beige" performance last week, Louie asked Kelly to step it up a notch for the salsa, but Kelly's frustrations in practice made it hard for her to catch on. Carrie Ann said it was brilliant and elegant and she was happy that Kelly was not afraid this time. Len said it was the first time Kelly controlled her nerves but she still needs to come up another level. Bruno noted that Kelly found the character this week and it helped her performance.
Mya & Dmitry - Fox Trot - Total Score: 25
Mya didn't like her low scores last week and hoped to show she can be classy with the Fox Trot this week. Cloris Leachman came in to talk about the Era of the Fox Trot and give Mya tips about the attitude of that time period. Len liked when they were in hold but didn't like the unnecessary gimmicks. Bruno disagreed saying "htis Fox Trot perfectly captured the glamorous aura of Hollywood Golden Age" and Carrie Ann agreed with Bruno saying Len was crazy.
Aaron Carter & Karina - Jive - Total Score: 29
After two weeks of ballroom dancing, Aaron was afraid of mixing it up with the Jive. Could he get his feet to keep up with the "faster than normal" Jive that Karina designed? Bruno said some weird stuff that ended with "your best performance". Carrie Ann said he was like a little road runner and that the dance was excellent with only one weird misstep in the middle. Len said "that had enough energy to light up Hollywood", he loved that it was fun but didn't have slapstick and said he was "tempted" to dust off his 10 paddle... and he did just that!
Donny Osmond & Kym - Quick Step - Total Score: 24
Donny couldn't keep up with Kym last week, so he would have to speed it up a notch for this week's quick step. Not only that, but he had to work on his posture so Kym brought up a posture bar to force him out of the slouch. Bruno said Donny did a good job at covering up all his mistakes, but he sold the performance. Carrie Ann thought it was good but noticed about 4-5 mistakes. Len liked that it was full of drive and he really attacked the dance.
Mark Dascoscos & Lacey (Anna T.) - Samba - Total Score: 19
Lacey was so sick this week, so Mark had to dance with Anna T. instead. Tony came in to help Mark and finally Anna came in to quickly learn the dance with him as well as add all new steps! Carrie Ann had compassion for him due to his rough week but thought it was a mess, disjointed, and had no flow. Len said it wasn't his best dance but thought he coped well with his changing partners. Bruno said it was like "kung fu panda doing the samba on the planet of the apes".
Michael Irvin & Anna D - Fox Trot- Total Score: 23
After almost being eliminated last week, Michael hoped his Fox Trot would keep him in the game. Anna wanted Michael to bring his "touchdown dance" performance to the Fox Trot. Len loved the Fox Trot and is glad Michael is still around. Bruno commented on Michael's musicality and said it has improved. Carrie Ann said he was incredible and she was surprised by it all. She even loved the costumes he designed for him and Anna.
Team Dances: As a team the stars and pros would have to work together to create a dance. Within the dance, each couple would have to do a solo to impress the judges.
Mark, Aaron, Mya and Michael made up Team Paso. Mya was the only female star on their team so she would have to keep up with the pros. Mark had to deal with the last minute partner change as well. Bruno said the got the strong and powerful part of the Paso Doble but they were out of sync at parts. For Bruno, Mya was the stand out. Carrie Ann loved the intensity but thought the choreography was a bit basic. For Carrie Ann, Mark was the stand out. Len said the routine got better and better as it went on but did not name anyone as a stand out. Team Score: 24
Joanna, Kelly and Donny made up Team Tango. Derek and Louie said having fewer teams was an advantage because there would be "less egos". Kelly wanted to redeem herself for the "dreadful" tango she did earlier in the season. Joanna just didn't want to be the weak link on the team. Donny was having flu-like symptoms which made it hard for him to remember the steps, but the team stepped up to help him learn it. Carrie Ann got up to spank them for putting a lift in! She said it was awesome otherwise. Len said the Tango was easier than the Paso but it was a much superior performance. Bruno loved it. Team Score: 28
Final Scores:
Michael and Anna - Final Score: 23+24 = 47
Mark and Lacey (Anna T) - Final Score: 19+24 = 43
Aaron and Karina - Final Score: 29+24 = 53
Mya and Dmitry - Final Score: 25+24 = 49
Kelly and Louis - Final Score: 24+28 = 52
Donny and Kym - Final Score: 24+28 = 52
Joanna and Derek - Final Score: 27+28 = 55
Results show: Joanna and Aaron top the leader board with Mark way at the bottom. Who will go home in tomorrow in yet another double elimination? Tune in to ABC to find out!
