'America's Next Top Model' Cycle 13: Hawaiian Hip Hop Recap

Only four models remained as this week's episode of America's Next Top Model began.  The final four consists of Erin, Laura, Nicole and Jennifer with Erin being on her absolute last chance after being in the bottom 2 for the past few weeks.  

The Hulu Hip Hop Challenge: The girls were challenged to learn a hulu dance / hip hop combination which is meant to teach them how to tell a story with their bodies.  The four girls learned a hulu hip-hop routine, with each making up their own solo to tell their story.  Erin (left) bragged that she was already good at dance and that she was helping all the others with the dance, but as we've seen in the past she might not be the best when it comes down to performance.  In practice, Nicole had no rhythm so it didn't seem like she would do well.  

The judges liked Jennifer's Hawaiian portion but saw that she struggled with the hip hop.  Erin was up next and the judges didn't get her story, plus she didn't seem to keep up with the pros.  Laura told a good story and kept up with the dance pretty well.  Finally Nicole didn't even really know what she was doing and it was obvious.  The winner, receiving an all expense paid trip to Maui, was Laura!  She choose to share her prize with Jennifer, much to Erin's dismay.  Apparently Erin isn't the best at dancing just like she wasn't the best at modelling.

The Pele Photo Shoot: Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of fire and volcanoes and for this week's photo shoot the girls had to pose with perfect timing to match the other things going on in the photo.  After this photo shoot - two girls would be going home!  So it was a make-it or break-it event.  Jennifer was first up and Jay wasn't happy with her initial pose so she had to mix it up.  She was also stubborn about standing on her toes even after advice from Jay that she shouldn't do that because of the rocks.  Nicole (right) was second and she impressed the photographer and Jay with a "campaign worthy image".  Laura couldn't seem to get her face and got a lot of input from Jay and the photographer on what she was doing wrong.  Finally, Erin was up for her last chance photo shoot.  The photographer liked some of her poses but Jay said she needs to look less angry.  She started singing songs in her head which helped her relax her face.

Deliberation: The judges thought Erin's shot was pretty, wonderful, beautiful but said she could have shown a little more happiness.  Tyra said she looked sleepy throughout her film.  Jennifer's shot was not at her best angle and the judges overall didn't like her photo that much.  The judges compared Laura (left) to Rachel Hunter saying she has many faces.  They loved her face in the photo and only had a few comments about her legs looking short.  Nicole's face was stunning but Nigel wasn't super happy with the overall pose.  However the other judges liked the understated pose.

Double Elimination: The best photo this week went to Nicole leaving Erin, Jennifer and Laura in the bottom three.  Jennifer has great film but has gotten shaky lately.  Laura has a sweet personality and amazing pictures but doesn't always show up as a model in person.  Erin started off on the top but has since fallen down, until this comeback photo.  The second finalist was Laura, sending Jennifer (right) and Erin (finally!) home tonight.  

Next week: Finalist Nicole and Laura will compete in a runway challenge and one will be named America's Next Top Model!  Tune in to the CW next Wednesday night to see who takes home the win!
