Governor Jindal congratulated and thanked the New Orleans Saints yesterday for the free public relations for the City of New Orleans and the State of Louisiana on WDSU yesterday. “We couldn’t buy this kind of publicity,” he said as thousands of fans lined the exit road from Armstrong International Airport to meet the Saints plane coming back from Miami after beating the Colts to win the Superbowl. Jindal credited Drew Brees and Sean Peyton with constantly mentioning the recovery effort of the Gulf Coast in press conferences and interviews. He said it was a great victory for New Orleans and for Louisiana.
He noted that Louisiana shared the ranking of #1 with Tennessee in Economic Development Performance in 2009 by Southern Business and Development. And that portfolio.com listed Louisiana as faring 2nd out of all fifty states and the District of Columbia during the economic recession.
