A friend of Lauri Lebo, author of The Devil in Dover: An Insider's Story of Dogma v. Darwin in Small-town America, snapped a photo of a billboard that is "popping up around the country, with sightings from Erie to Waco to the Bay Area."
The sign reads: "Save the date! Return of Christ. May 21, 2011. WeCanKnow.com."
Harold Camping does not put his name all over his websites, but he and his cronies run We Can Know, Family Radio, and Bible Ministries International, all websites devoted to telling you to prepare for the end of the world.
This isn't the first date Camping predicted. In September, 1994, he and his followers expected the end, but alas, it didn't come. Some say that makes him a false prophet.
But not to be deterred, Camping simply went back to "the book" and recalculated. History shows that time and again, doomsday predictors, when they fail, only dig their heels in deeper into their bizarre beliefs.
So, mark your calendars! Jesus arrives on May 22, 2011--prepare to be judged. (There's a cute little countdown clock at Camping's We Can Know website.)
Won't it be wonderful to finally meet this guy? Christians all over the world will finally have the proof they've needed for so long (well, for more than 2000 years!) to convince the silly scientific-minded heathens. Of course, it won't do most of them any good. According to Camping, only a very few understand what's going on and they've left all the churches, because, well, that's what the Bible says to do, apparently. And those regular, clueless Christians are not getting saved. Only Camping knows how you can be saved!
And then, the world goes up in flames (or whatever) on October 21. So mark your calendar with a big question mark on that day, and check out Camping's website for his explanation.
In Camping's own words: "WE CAN KNOW from the Bible alone that the date of the rapture of believers will take place on May 21, 2011 and that God will destroy this world on October 21, 2011. Please take your time and browse through the teachings of Harold Camping..."
Take your time? The world is ending next year! Is he nuts?

He needs to read his bible a little more as it says in Matt.24.36...Concerning that day and hour nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens. nor the son, but only the Father.
I agree with Michael. For those Christians that try and predict when Christ will return, why do they always seem to forget this vital verse? I don't understand it. It clearly states that no man knows the hour.
Churches never mention these verses that state the believers will know more than the unbeliervers like when christ will return, ask your minister what these verses mean! I am sure that he will not have an answer.
1 Thessalonians 5:
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
The world is in such a mess our only hope is God's return. You who don't want him to return, ask yourself: Who is going to help the world. The world is truly beyond any human help. No jobs, no money, no future. Greed and violence and vice has already destroyed our world. Now our only salvation is the Lord's intervention.
Michael,
According to your method of Biblical interpretation "NO MAN" will ever know the Father or the Son - Matthew 11:27. This is why we must compare scripture with scripture. It turns out this verse is a MAJOR testing program. God bless.
Worse than that, Mike. Jesus is recorded as saying, "For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom." (Matthew 16:27-28)
Well, they're all dead, and Jesus didn't return. False prophet.
In that verse you mentioned the diciples did see heavenly figures on the mount of transfiguration in Jesus's time!
Don't make excuses, the world is a mess and the bible dates are all correct.
2 Peter, Chapter 3
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
If you read on jesus was talking about the transfiguration which occured 6 days latter. Matt.17,1-9. It pictured when Jesus would latter come in his kingdom. Moses and Elijah both did miricales like Jesus did and was showing what his kingdom would do when it comes in full power. So those who witnessed the transfiguration saw him in his kingdom before their deaths.
i believe christ is comng.. He' s got the unbelievers right where he wants them...scoffing about His return.
May 21 2011 will happen. Only God can open your eyes..
Everything is from the bible. If you go to familyradio.com you will see the scripture and you can look in the bible for yourself to confirm.
Amos.3:7 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets
Ecclesiastes 8:5 Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment.
Luke 12:35-40 Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning [that is, be prepared]; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master, when he will return from the wedding, that when he comes and knocks they may open to him immediately. Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. .And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
Matthew 24:42-44
42 Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44 Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect
remember to not judge or ye will be judged, Jesus taught so even the weakest will understand. He was gentle loving serving to others. No man shall know the date don't be set up by those with an agenda. Christ teaches in small things. notice the signs that something is not right. and notice the signs when you are being asked to help someone and stop what your doing for the moment to help others... service to others . service to Him.
