Al Gore terrified us all with his power point movie presentation, “An Inconvenient Truth,” which displayed the horrors of climate change. In fact, he won a Nobel Peace Prize for his work. But, is global warming scaring individuals as much as it did in the past? A new poll shows Americans have stopped considering global warming as a “very serious threat.”
Rasmussen Reports shows that 53% of voters think global warming is at least a somewhat serious problem. Yet that number includes just 28% who say it is a very serious problem. This percentage is down three points from last month.
Fox News reports that the public concern for environmental issues has hit an all time low this year. A Gallup poll reveals that this number (28%) is the lowest in 20 years. It seems the current state of the economy might have deterred American minds from worrying about the planet.
Why do you think concern for global warming has reached an all-time low?
