On 11/12/2009, Chris Brown spoke candidly to Rocsi on BET's 106 & Park.
The singer reacted to Rihanna's 20/20 interview and about his regrets for his actions. Brown stated that he made a mistake and that he is embarrassed. When Rocsi asked, "Do you think the punishment fits the crime?", Brown paused, and then spoke more of the public humiliation he has been suffering than he did of the actual court-ordered punishment.
Brown made it clear that he was not his step-father and sent out a clear message to people who might be in relationships that involve domestic violence. "The choices and decisions you make will change your future," was part of his message.
Chris Brown also spoke of famous close friends who have helped him to get through these difficult times. He seems to be crutching on his faithful fans, friends, and family who have continued to support him, and this strategy seems to be working for him.
Rocsi's questions were very direct and Brown seemed to be speaking from the heart. He explained that he is remorseful and still tries to smile through the whole ordeal.
This is by far Chris Brown's most convincing interview since the incident has been brought to light.

I feel people should just leave it alone and let their personal lives be their personal lives. The key word here is personal. I'll be damn if I let someone base by career off what I do in life or any other bad habits that I have. If that was case everyone would be out of a job in some form or fashion. For example if one of the host of 106 & park where acting like a slut should we fire them from that position because people think they are setting an bad example. I think people should just recognize others talents at what they do and not their faults. All we can do as America is teach the next child or person the right decisions to make to better the world .

This was, by far, his best interview concerning the "incident" but I don't think it serves him well to constantly say that he wish Rihanna would "keep the matter private". It gives the appearance that he wants to shut her up and therefore "control" her again(?). He should probably say something like he knows that everyone deals with issues differently and he congratulates/supports her on speaking out and aknowledges that this may be a part of her healing process as well as that of some other young woman going through the same thing that hears their story. I'm rooting for them both to be happy, healthy (mentally) and successful as they continue to learn and grow through life. The only reasons that they are still speaking about it now (9 months removed from the "incident") is at first it was a legal issue, so they couldn't talk. Then it was a healing issue were they both were getting the help and support they both need. Now it is a promotional issue with both albums coming out.
