It is being reported that Janet Jackson has been signed on to perform a tribute to her brother Michael Jackson at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
According to an insider, Janet has unleashed her “A” game and has put her body through strict 15 hour dance rehearsals to put on a memorable performance in honor of Michael.
The insider also revealed that her performance will include 20 back-up dancers and the performance is being choreographed by some of the best dance choreographers in the business. The show will reportedly be a showstopper rendering it impossible for there to be a “dry eye in the house”.
This performance has all the potential of being the most anticipated performance of the night. To have Janet Jackson on the bill to perform a tribute to her brother will be most fitting. Both Janet and Michael appeared on a song together titled “Scream” that appeared on Michael’s 9th studio album HIStory.
Janet Jackson is currently at work on the sequel to Tyler Perry’s film Why Did I Get Married? appropriately titled Why Did I Get Married Too. The singer is also working on a new album that has a tentative release date set for early 2010.
The MTV VMA's will air live from New York on Sunday, September 13th at 9pm EST.

If this is true, MTV will have zillion of viewers; "Janet Jackson is the "Greatest Female Performer of all Times"; she is the female "Michael Jackson" she will shut it down just watch and see, I was not interested in watching it because I get tired of Beyonce she can not perform for nothing, but hearing this news, I am going to watch it & Michael will be smiling down on Janet he would be so proud of her she is the only one that can pull this off. I was not going to watch the VMA's because they always have the same artist performing, but now that the "Queen of Music & Dance" is performing yes I will be watching it, cause Janet is the one she & Michael are so much alike in so many ways! I hope she performs "Smooth Criminal" her "Alright" video is sorta like "Smooth Criminal" We love you Janet & feel your pain. Rest in peace "Michael Joseph Jackson"
