Usher can’t seem to get his at-home life in order so that he can release his album Raymond vs. Raymond that has been serially pushed back too many times to count.
According to the NY Daily News, the reason behind Usher not getting his album released has a lot to do with his mother and his new woman.
Déjà vu anyone?
Yet again, Usher has allowed his personal life, his love life and his career to collide for the bad to cause issues in the long run between him and his fans. The “Confessions” singer has reportedly gotten into it with his mother/manager and has fired her again because of it.
It turns out Usher’s mom, Jonetta Patton, is not taking a liking to Usher’s newest girlfriend – former Def Jam exec Grace Miguel –adding her two sense to his career or this new album.
Because she and Usher cannot see eye-to-eye, both Usher and momager have severed ties. This situation reportedly dates back to November 2009.
Does this have something to do with the push back that occurred just in time for the album’s release date on December 8?
According to Usher’s label Jive Records it does.
Usher told the label that he would manage himself with the help of new girlfriend Grace Miguel, which is clearly a recipe for disaster; his label concurred with that last statement.
So because Usher didn’t reconcile with his mother or assured the Jive Records’ execs that he would seek a manager, they made a decision to push his album back to March 30th.
In response to it all, Usher has since decided to seek management with AEG Live CEO Randy Phillips who manages big named artists such as Toni Braxton, Lionel Richie and the late Michael Jackson.
This is a good move on Usher’s part, but it does concern observers as to why he would think that managing himself would be the wisest thing to do. Though many will not admit it, Usher’s musical career is hanging by a string. Had it not been for his radio worthy single “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)” many would have washed their hands of the crooner.
Going by just a name and a face is not enough to be the best or most importantly move units. Managing may seem simple, but when you are both the manager and the performer that can be a little too much work to bear.
Usher needs to find a way to separate his personal life from his career. It’s great that he has a new girlfriend that has experience within the industry, but allowing her to cause yet another rift between he and his mother (which come to think of it, his mother might be a bit controlling) is a no, no.
As mentioned, the new release date for Usher’s LP Raymond vs. Raymond is scheduled for release on March 30th, 2010.

Seems to me Usher's career is hanging in the balance because he's to busy dealing with personal problems. You can't work when you are mentally drained from family ishh. I'm sure not having his mother's blessings regarding Tameka hurt him BADLY. But, I don't think him marrying Tameka killed his career. He did it all by himself by firing his mother. Trust it takes two to tango and if Tameka had have played her cards right I think Usher's mom would have come around. Sometimes it takes a minute for a person to see your true colors especially when they are thinking all bad. I believe that if Tameka would have just focused on being the great mother that she is and just kinda stepped back from Usher's career things would have worked out a lot better for everyone. Seems like everyone in Usher's life wants to be the one to take him to the TOP instead of just loving him. His mother loves him and just like my mother she doesn't want him getting hurt. But obvious he has to learn the hard way.
I also wanted to add that it's obvious that Usher doesn't know who he is? I say this because if you marry for LOVE no man can destroy it. If your career was the issue then EVERYONE in the world made that very clear TO YOU from the beginning. So I never really got the whole marriage/divorce thing. So now you're cleaving to this women. Another one of his bright career moves. Usher is always messing with some married but separated women. And I think this women is just trying make a name for herself. Trying to take credit for Usher's successful career. But let's not ever forget who made Usher USHER. And that's his MOTHER. Honestly, I see this Grace person as nothing more that an opportunist. She's a lot more dangerous for Usher than Tameka ever was. I am routing for USHER but he needs to stop thinking with him small head and get back on TRACK. But I guess it's to late for that, now he's getting ready to sign his life to those damn white folks at AEG instead of keeping it in the family.
