The 2009 American Music Awards is in full swing with performances by Janet Jackson, Jay-Z & Alicia Keys, and most recently Rihanna setting the stage for the night.
Award shows have in general seem to have lost its luster; however, tonight the American Music Awards are proving that they are no longer the underdogs of award shows by jam packing the telecast with memorable performances.
Jennifer Lopez and Whitney Houston are a couple of performers who are gearing up to take to the stage, so make sure you make it over to your television sets to get an eyeful of the festivities if you haven't already.
