The Lowell Quilt Festival in Lowell, Massachusetts runs from Thursday, August 12 to Saturday, August 14. This show, titled IMAGES, is New England's premier judged and juried quilt show.

The show will feature special events and exhibits, a live auction of quilts, raffles, a vendor mall and vendor demonstrations, and quilt appraisals.

There will also be daily "lunch and learn" trunk shows. If you reserve your place ahead of time, a boxed lunch will be provided for you.

On opening day at 9:30 am there will be an escort of Julie Feingold's Lost Heroes Art Quilt to its place of honor in the Hall of Flags Lobby of the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. This 5 1/2 x 15-foot art piece is a moving tribute to those who have fallen in service since September 11, 2001.

Museums and galleries throughout Lowell will also be hosting quilt and textile-arts-themed events. To help you get to and from the events around town, the festival is offering a free shuttle between all participating sites.

Admission: $12 (group rates available on the website)

Festival events will take place at three different venues. You can find maps and directions on the website.
