Donate quilt blocks to help Nashville flood victims

Rainbow Around the Block is a project to provide quilts to the families affected by the flooding in Nashville, TN this past spring.

Quilters can donate unfinished 12-1/2-inch by 12-1/2-inch (12-inch by 12-inch finished) in a monochromatic color scheme (or two harmonious colors, like red and orange, or blue and green) in any patchwork style.

They want all shades: brights, pastels, dusty tones, neutrals, and so on. You may send as many blocks as you want.

The last deadline to send in blocks is September 1.

Quilt shops and guilds are invited to spread the word by posting informational posters or by becoming central drop-off points for blocks. You can get more information by contacting rainbow@annamariahorner.com.

Quilters near Nashville can help assemble the blocks. Just contact rainbow@annamariahorner.com for information on how to do that.

If you have completed quilts you would like to donate, they will accept any size or style.

Non-quilters can help by donating to the Rainbow Around the Block PayPal account. The money will be donated to an organization to help feed hungry families in Middle Tennessee.

To participate, go to their website to get more information.
