Giving back: PR from the heart

Nicaragua is a beautiful place to visit and live. Yes, live. Whether as a second home community, a retirement lifestyle, or to relocate as a virtual executive --  Nicaragua is growing in population with U.S. and Canadian citizens looking for natural magnificence and affordable luxury. Gran Pacifica is the answer with beachfront condos, fabulous gated community homesites, and golf courses.

CEO, Michael Cobb moved from Shepherdstown, WV several years ago with his wife and two young children because he believed in the country and the people.  Putting his money where his mouth is -- later this month, on Saturday, March 14, Gran Pacifica will host a charity concert to raise money for two Nicaraguan charites, CHESS and Love, Light, and Melody. All proceeds will help over 3,000 children and families in Villa El Carmen and La Chureca. Live music will be performed by world famous U.S. band, Braddigan, and local bands including Monroy & Surmenage, Korfodermo and others.

Gran Pacifica is supporting these charities because giving back to the community is critical to show their appreciation for the warm welcome they have received as developers and the investors have received when buying Gran Pacifica properties for living or renting.  Michael Cobb is aware that the success of his resort is only possible because of the commitment of the Nicaraguan people and their desire for the country to grow and be a competitive force in tourism and affordable luxury living.

CHESS, the Children, Health, Education and Supporting Services project along side the Hope & Development Foundation is assisting the municipality of Villa El Carmen, Nicaragua, in achieving community empowerment through improved primary school education and health. This project builds on existing primary school peer-mentoring programs, primary youth leadership programs, mother’s nutrition programs, parent teacher associations and health education programs in primary schools that are constantly being strengthened in the target communities. The CHESS program partners with Gran Pacifica Resort and helps aid and support over 1,800 children, teachers, and mother’s in Villa El Carmen.

Love Light & Melody is a nonprofit organization dedicated to battling the physical, emotional, and spiritual affects of extreme poverty in the trash dump community of La Chureca. The goal is to identify and meet the immediate physical needs, raise awareness about this trash dump community, and fight social injustice. We use music and the arts to rebuild, restore, and bring healing to this entire community ravaged by distress.

Giving back to the community through an uplifting event that builds awareness and directly contributes to others is more than PR for your business -- it is PR for the karma of your business -- from the heart -- and that is the best of all.

I know and like Mike Cobb, he's even invited me to play golf with him. My wife and I own Playa Roca Beach Hotel in Las Penitas-Leon, that's how I met Mike. We are the northern part of Nicaragua nobody talks about. Where are the coffee and cigar plantations, the volcano's you can even ski down? Beaches and wildlife reserves galore, cascading waterfalls, Central America's oldest Cathedral all are north of Managua, Granada, San Juan del Sur. Grand Pacifica is a marvelous endeavor and I applaud Mike's vision, tanacity, and follow through, I hope to soon beacon on this part of Nicaragua soon. Please don't forget that Nicaragua is Gigante and all of it needs the exposure. Many people are missing out on a great experience will only enhance not only Playa Roca's future but Grand Pacifica's also. I send Mike people that would have more of an interest in that type of living style, nobody else has done the job he and his team have. We've talked about more sharing between the two, but obviously we are busy doing our own thing to promote ourselves and don't get around to some little things. I am writing you to tell you I am taking the time now to remember. Thanks for your article. Please say hi to Mike and try to remember Playa Roca (see Playroca.com), it is not just a place it's a DESTINY.
David and Cookie No Basura Cardin de la Playa Roca.
