The parking lots are packed around the Columbian Building and Esther Short Park in Vancouver, Washington today. Security is tight as CBS Films works on the unnamed film, known so far only as the ‘Crowley Project.’
To the right is a photo taken at 5:30pm today, May 20th, from Esther Short Park. It shows a telescoping boom shining a spotlight into a window where filming is underway. The lower window has been modified to look smaller from the inside.
As I waited, like the paparazzi that I hate, for something exciting to happen, Six F-15 fighter jets from the Oregon National Guard began a sortie. F-15’s are so loud when they take off that outdoor conversation is nearly impossible. I could almost hear the director shouting: “Cut! What the heck is that racket?”
Slipping around behind the building, a burly security guard forbade me to take photographs. I took several anyway as he gave me serious ‘stink eyes.’ The next photo shows a line of trailers used by the cast and crew.
I plan to return with the camera. Maybe I’ll get lucky tomorrow. To see this exciting filming site via Tri-Met or C-TRAN, see my previous article on the Crowley Project. Click here for second day news, or here for the final day.
