The new Megabus service in Atlanta is quickly becoming a popular option for travel to other cities such as Orlando, Nashville, Charlotte and Birmingham. The bus arrives and departs from the Civic Center MARTA station, making it easy to transfer to or from Atlanta's rail system. See below for some of the common questions about using MARTA with the Megabus.
1. Is there any parking at the Civic Center station?
No. There is no parking at the Civic Center station.
2. What MARTA stations can I park at to connect to the Megabus, and how much does it cost?
MARTA long-term parking is available at nine stations around the city. Rates are either $5 or $8 per day depending on location. Stations in the north are Doraville, Brookhaven, Lenox, Lindbergh Center, North Springs, Sandy Springs and Dunwoody. In the east near I-285 is the Kensington station or in the south, College Park.
3. Where is the best place to park for connecting with the Megabus?

At the Lindbergh Center station, board any southbound train and exit at the Civic Center station, which is the fourth stop down. The MARTA fare is $2.50 each way, plus $1 for the cost of a Breeze Card if you don't already have one.
4. I'm arriving in Atlanta on the Megabus. How do I get to the airport from the bus?
The Megabus arrives at the Civic Center station. Cross the street to enter the station opposite from where the bus parks. Breeze Card fare machines are located inside the station where you can purchase your fare at $2.50 one way. Two children 46 inches and smaller can ride free with a paying adult. After getting your fare, look for signs pointing to the Southbound train platform and get on the first train that arrives. The airport is the last stop and you can enter directly into the airport near Delta and AirTran check-in kiosks.
5. How do I get to the Greyhound bus station from the Megabus?
Following the instructions above, get a Breeze Card and board a Southbound train from the Civic Center Station. Exit at the Garnett Station. Greyhound is next to the rail station.
6. What hotels are nearby?
The hotels in walking distance from the Civic Center station are rather expensive: Twelve Centennial Park, W Hotel, The Inn at the Peachtrees and Hyatt Place. Hyatt Place is the most affordable around $100/night. There are also many other hotels that are in walking distance to other MARTA stations if you wish to use the MARTA rail to travel to another station. To the south, there are numerous hotels around the Peachtree Center station and Comfort Suites is right next to the Five Points station. Getting on a northbound train provides hotel options near the Midtown station, including Regency Suites next to the station or travel to Buckhead for several other hotels. See this list of hotels with MARTA directions for more information.
7. Are there any rental car locations in the area?
There are several rental car companies located near the Peachtree Center MARTA station, one station south of the Civic Center where the bus drops off passengers. You can also walk if you are willing to be on your feet for 20-30 minutes. The closest rental car company is Enterprise Rent-A-Car at 303 Courtland Street. From the Megabus, walk south toward the downtown skyscrapers on West Peachtree Street and turn left on Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd, which is the first stoplight. Turn right on Courtland Street after walking a couple blocks. Further down Courtland Avenue is Hertz, Avis and Budget.
If you want to take the train to one of these locations, get on the first southbound train that arrives at the Civic Center station and exit at the next stop, Peachtree Center. Follow the signs to the Ellis Street exit then to Peachtree Street East. At street level, turn right on Peachtree Street and walk to the first intersection, Ellis Street, and turn right on Ellis. Avis and Budget are a couple blocks down. You can turn left on Courtland to reach the other two rental car locations (see area map).
