Unlike New York City, Atlanta's transit system doesn't run 24 hours. And whoever might be on that "midnight train to Georgia" might be a bit pressed for time, as the trains in Atlanta stop running at 1 a.m. See below for more information on hours of operation, frequencies and train schedules to help you with your trip planning.
Hours of Operation
Weekday: 4:45 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Weekend: 6 a.m. to 1 a.m.
Frequency
Weekday: Every 15 minutes* (see red line note below)
Weekend: Every 20 minutes
Schedules
For specific time schedules, view the line information below. Holidays operate on a weekend timetable. All stations also have digital displays that provide the time of the next arriving train.
Red Line
Weekday
Weekend
After 7 p.m., the red line (North Springs) train only runs between the Lindbergh and North Springs stations. At this time, frequency also changes from 15 minutes to 20 minutes on weekdays. If you are coming from the airport or downtown, get on the first train that arrives (Doraville) and ride the train to the Lindbergh station. Exit the train and wait on the platform for the North Springs train.
Green Line
Weekday
Between start of service and 9 a.m. and between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., the green line train operates between the Bankhead and Candler Park stations. After 7 p.m., it only runs between Bankhead and Vine City.
Weekend
On weekends, the green line train runs between Bankhead and the King Memorial station until 7 p.m. After 7 p.m., service is only between Bankhead and Vine City.
