The time is almost here again! Atlanta Choong Sil Kwan Taekwondo is preparing for the annual “Spar Wars”. This martial arts school is filled with afterschool students who have a zeal for disciplined training and mental etiquette in the circumstance of stressful situations. Sparring for these students increases physical durability and focus for real life situations that may occur under an unwanted circumstance.
John and Jennifer Salama’s student preparation for the tournament consisted of 4 weeks intense spar training along with the routine form preparation, strength techniques, and mental art associated with stretching, focus exercises, and meditation. The students compete at age and belt levels in order to create a fair opponent for the class range. The tournament takes place in Memphis, Tennessee at St. Benedict’s High School on September 11, 2010.
What is the special idea behind “Spar Wars”? Is it the location in beautiful Memphis, Tennessee? Is it the variety of schools attending the tournament? Or can it be the contribution of allotted monies to the CTF organization development for pro-social and healthy lifestyles? As a matter of fact, all answers to the listed questions make “Spar Wars” such an amazing event. The CTF or Choong Sil Taekwondo Foundation is one of the largest martial arts organizations in the United States, training students since 1984. Atlanta Choong Sil Kwan Taekwondo is one of the schools whom brought prestigious outcomes in form development and sparring. The students’ participation in “Spar Wars” provides quality time with instructors, mentors, and parents, while showing the parents the quality, capabilities, and focus learned from taekwondo exercises.
