Al Franken, new Senator from Minnesota . . . yeah, I saw him naked
So, you’re going to have to help me with this. I am wondering what to do with the fact that I saw Al Franken naked. You see, one of the courses that I teach is Government. And, like any public school teacher, I want to keep my students on the edge of their seats, interested and intrigued while they learn a required subject. So, should I tell my students?.jpeg)

So how did this naked sighting happen? In the mid- to late nineties, I was a member of New York Sports Club in Manhattan on the Upper West Side. So, was Al Franken. He used the locker room. So did I. Get it? Nothing scandalous. Just a natural thing in any locker room. The only difference was before I saw him I was a fan of Saturday Night Live and had been in contact with Saturday Night Live staff. Comedy is what drew me to the Big Apple, and I thought I was going to be a comedian. So, when you see someone you admire, you remember it. But, how often does one see a naked star?
While living in New York for ten years, I met (actually spoke to) tons of stars—Samuel Jackson, Gregory Hines, Halle Berry, Jasmine Guy, Spike Lee, Warrington Hudlin (House Party movies), Lisa Lisa (from the Cult Jam), Chubb Rock, KRS-One, Robert Sean Leonard, Denzel Washington (When I returned to New York to see him on Broadway & my wife took a picture with him), Alec Baldwin & Kim Basinger (at the same time , walking in Central Park), Russell Simmons, who gave me the telephone number to his brother (Rev. Run, whom I called), Forest Whitaker, Flava Flav (on a subway train, with a clock on in the mid-nineties), Ricky Martin, etc. I actually saw (and didn’t talk to) tons more like Jay-Z and John F. Kennedy, Jr. (who, while riding a bike, acknowledged a dog I was walking). See I have memories, and the only memory I have of Al Franken is of seeing his naked body in the locker room at NY Sports Club.
So, every year, I tell my students that I not only met Hillary Clinton but I also completed an internship for Hillary Clinton when she ran for the New York Senate seat. They are impressed with that. It is government-related. It keeps them interested. I do not share about the other celebrities I have met because it is not relevant to Government. I also share that the reason we need to participate is because these folks are regular people, normal folks who make mistakes and are like you and me.
So, should I tell them that out of 100 U.S. Senators, I saw one naked? Should I tell them that out of 535 Congresspersons, I saw one that was naked? My government students are about fifteen years old. They would love that info. They would eat it up. They will never forget the junior Senator from Minnesota. Of course, I would not give details, even though someone is bound to ask.
So, as a teacher, would you tell them?

Go for it. Stir things up!
My kids would go wild and then I would spend the next half hour quieting them down. not worth it in my opinion. doesn't add anything to the topic. but that's my opinion.
No harm, no foul. These kids hear much worse. I can't imagine where their thoughts will be when you share that bit of information. Eeww. I do not want to think about it.
Well, at least describe what he looked like naked!
