The highest paid television sitcom star in entertainment history may be sharing a prison cell with a felon if a Colorado jury finds him guilty of abusing his wife.
Actor Charlie Sheen is charged with felony menacing as a result of a Christmas incident in which he allegedly assaulted his wife Brooke Mueller.
The 44-year-old actor was originally arrested on charges of second degree assault by the Pitkin County, CO Police Department. Mueller called 9-1-1 and claimed that Sheen assaulted her, but Sheen allegedly told responding police officers that he was only trying to defend himself from her attacks.
The Two and a Half Men star is set to appear in court this Monday for an arraignment, but is not expected to enter a plea, according to Fox News Channel's America Live with Megyn Kelly.
During the court hearing, the presiding judge will hear arguments from Mueller and Sheen's attorneys to lessen the protective order prohibiting any contact between them.
During his stormy marriage to ex-wife actress Denise Richards, Sheen was accused by her of physical and mental abuse as well as accusations that he viewed child pornography on the Internet. Since then she recanted her story.
Richards claims Sheen telephoned her from jail on Christmas Day, after he was arrested for his alleged attack on his current wife Mueller.
