Twitter chats unite for #chatmixer

On Tuesday, March 9^th, eighteen different Twitter Chat communities will gather together for a special one hour live Chat Mixer, designed to help those in the field of public relations and social media explore new Twitter communities and build new relationships with like-minded professionals.

According to Justin Goldborough, co-host of #pr20chat and one of the Chat Mixer hosts, the event will provide avid chat participants a chance to forge new relationships with members of other chats and offer those who don't currently participate in chats a chance to see the value and begin meeting new people.

A diverse group of Twitter Chats will be participating, from established communities such as #Journchat, (which has been in existence since November 23, 2008 )and #SocialMedia (which will celebrate its one year anniversary this month), to B2BChat and TweenPR, two of the newest chats for communications professionals.

While each of the individual chats center around a regular live conversation, the communities also use the group hashtags to communicate between chats. “From February 23rd through 3/1, over 77% of the tweets about #PRStudChat contained multiple hashtags (including hashtags to other chat sessions),” shares Deirdre Breakenridge, co founder of #PRStudChat

“In healthcare, we usually stay focused on communication issues in our industry - often forgetting that many other industries and types of organizations are also struggling with social media strategy, implementation, and integration,” says #HCSM founder Dana Lewis. “I hope participating in #chatmixer helps us remember that we can learn from efforts in other industries as well.’
