Republicans call for bank nationalization

It's a sad, crazy time in national politics when leading GOP figures openly hope for massive unemployment and economic catastrophe in order to improve their electoral prospects.  It may also be a measure of exactly how absolutely nuts the GOP has become when a couple of it's leading spokesmen advocate nationalizing banks while their Democrat counterparts argue against it.

This morning on ABC News "This Week", Republican Senator LIndsey Graham and Rep. Peter King both argued nationalizing banks may be in order while Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer and Rep. Maxine Waters opposed such a move.

Here's a video from the show showing Sen. Graham open to nationalization:

Senator Schumer rebutted with an argument the federal government is not "good at making these decisions, about who gets loans and how this happens".

It's a wacky time.

Now...wait a minute...a sad day when the Republicans want the country to fail. Come on dumbass Democrats...Its a sad day when you the dingy Reids and Pelosi's say they have a stimulus bill to help the country when its a lot of pork and all of the Democrats haven't even read the damn bill! That to me is a sad day!!!

As for the stupid comment that Rush wanted Obama to fail...Rush stated that he wanted Obama's policies to fail as I do. They are very liberal and harmful to this country. As for speaking to the President...Rush stated that he does well.

Come on guys and gals...stop getting your news from Air America!!!

this is still a free enterprising country but when banks have their own "white boys" club keeping all the dole to themselves, then the gov't has every right to nationalize to keep the control mechanisms in place. we're not in the state of affairs now because there was fair and equitable in our money institutions. part of your hard earned deposits go to these fat cats' salaries and their balding heads.

We Need to Nationalize Banking & Finance

    "Why?"

"Same as for health care, banking & finance is a public service."

    "Anything else?"

"Privatized public service is an oxymoron.

    "Based on?"

    "Greed."
