Van Jones: Green patriot (Video)

   Van Jones

The resignation of Van Jones, the Green Patriot, is a blow to the country and the environmental movement. Jones, Special Advisor for Green Jobs to the White House, resigned after a malicious smear campaign, the likes of which has not been seen since the shameful days of the McCarthy era.

Van Jones is a vocal proponent of American Clean Energy And Security Act H.R. 2454, otherwise known as "cap and trade". The bill passed in the House in June. It is now in the US Senate. There is concern that without the charisma, efficiency, and dedication of Jones the bill will stall in the Senate. The bill is important, and should pass. Aside from being the right thing to do, passage would stand as a legacy to the vision of Van Jones.

It is sad that Van Jones, the White House Green Jobs Czar, was forced to resign after being targeted by a vicious smear campaign. The polished, affable professional is portrayed as some sort of dangerous radical by a few extreme right wing media personalities. The fact that a few misguided pied pipers could seduce so many feeble minded Americans is disturbing, an ugly price to pay for freedom and equality.

The ignorant and the racist, the frightened and the paranoid, opposed Van Jones. Van Jones, rather than vicariously expend the president's political capital defending his reputation, instead chose the noble and self sacrificing path of resigning for the good of the country. His work and sacrifice should not be in vein. Support cap and trade. Support Green jobs. Support the green collar economy. Support the legacy of Van Jones, Green Patriot.

Your defense of this racist, America hater shows just what an uninformed imbecile you are; the guy is a self-avowed black militant and a communist. How's that hope and changed working out for you. (You probably don't hear the words "working" and "out" in the same sentence a lot, do you?)

Techinically, a Smear Campaign would be a forceful amount of False information pushed out to the public in order to discredit an opponent. That's like saying Nixon resigned due to a leftwing smear campaign?

Please tell us Mike, which media outlet reported something false? It's a miracle with the hard left-leaning mainstream media and GE(aka, NBC) being in Obama's back pocket due to corporate interest over which Obama presides, that the public was ever made of aware of Van Jones' shameful perspectuive on America.

If this individuals views and past were defensible, the left-wing media surely would have swung in to his defense and hosed down the assualt. The truth is, Main Stream media could only hide or barely touch the story because Van Jones' past simply was not defensible. Nobody would have dared lift a finger to defend him because he's on the record with an agenda that is counter to the U.S. consitution. Obama swore an oath to defend the constitution from threats like Van Jones

Support for cap-and-trade has evaporated. Daily I read editorials, comments and letters-to-the-editor from all over the nation. Whereas when the House passed the bill it was maybe 2-to-1 against cap-and-trade, opinion now is off the charts against it. The Senate will be wise to bury this unpopular, complex and risky legislation.

Come on Michael...you can probably adjust the rabbit ears on the black and white tv in your room in your Mom's basement to get Fox news, right? If so, you'd get to listen to Van Jones spew his racist venom....BTW....if Van Jones was "forced" to resign, then you only have your beloved President to blame! Last time I checked, Fox news wasn't in a position to force government officials to remove their czars...
