Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin's resignation as Governor of Alaska has inspired a celebration on the social networking site Twitter. The phrase "#quitstock" is a tag for all things Palin, celebrating the awkward and goofy resignation of a true political character.
Questions still surround Palin's resignation, and Palin has given few clues about her political future. Palin's future is clouded by ethics investigations, money problems and sinking popularity.
Palin is scheduled to speak Aug. 8 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California. There are also plans to write a book. Yet plans to campaign for political candidates may be put on hold or cancelled all together. Palin's plunging popularity, and fears that her polarizing and divisive rhetoric would do more harm than good, are giving many candidates second thoughts as to the wisdom of associating with such a controversial and unattractive figure.
Palin's resignation is perhaps the greatest political mistake made so far in the relatively new 21st century. Her resignation was a political and moral failure. To quit a four year term after serving not even two years, a term she swore an oath to fulfill, is simply inexcusable. Her actions are irresponsible and deeply disrespectful to the great state of Alaska.
At a picnic ceremony in Fairbanks, Alaska's Lieutenant Governor Sean Parnell assumed the job Sarah Palin could not handle, a job she quit, a trust she broke. Her defenders continue to dwindle, as the selfishness and irresponsibility of her actions become increasingly apparent.
Recall Portland Mayor Sam Adams?

The only thing that is continuing "to dwindle" is the "Free the Weed" campaign.
PALIN 2012
Speaking of dwindling Mean Gene have you seen Obama's approval numbers lately? How low can you go, oh yeah, how low can you go...
You think you could be any more petty in your "column"?
Hey Mikey, if Palin is indeed washed-up & irrelevant, wouldn't it be more beneficial to your career as a distinguished journalist, to maybe focus on something more important or relevant? Hey maybe someone like Ron Paul for instance.
Palin will follow the cameras, microphones, adoring syncophants, and the $$$$, for the least amount of work that she needs to produce. I think most of this country gets it.
Hey Mikey, Here's Your Sign.
The resignation ceremony itself was dignified yet highly emotional.

Palin gave a wonderful speech from the gut and heart, she certainly didn't stare into a TELEPROMPTER and spout bland, souless rhetoric. She also gave plenty of hints for her future plans, we certainly will hear from her again.
If Sarah really wanted to look really stupid, and/or make the biggest political mistake so far in the relatively new 21st century, she would drop a tiny hint that she would consider supporting the "Free the Weed" movement.
She didn't step down, she is stepping up.
This is a perfect example of Cinderella Syndrome.
Palin is Cinderella and you all are the UGLY stepsisters.
Notice she AGAIN did not mention the word REPUBLICAN?
She may be the best hope of a party that is NOT Democrat or Republican since Perot.
Remember, he got 19% of the vote the first time.
She can attract those who are fed up with BOTH PARTIES!
Anybody that's anti-media, anti-hollyweird has got my vote any day of the week.
I loved Palin's line, "we eat, therefore, we hunt"
You must be at least a 3rd grader to think that was a great speech by Ms Falin ... ROFLMAO
Hint: You bet'cha !!! ROFLMAO wink wink...
She may have stepped or stepping down.. but wait until she falls on her face >>>
