Obama on global warming: First Professor schools climate change deniers. President Obama, while In Nevada out stumping for his friend Harry Reid and health care reform for all Americans, took a moment to educate skeptics arguing global warming must not be real because of the unprecedented heavy snows back east.
Obama, in straight forward and simple terms, explains how record snowstorms in the nation’s capital are connected to man-made climate change:
First of all, we just got five feet of snow in Washington and so everybody’s like-a lot of the people who are opponents of climate change, they say, “See, look at that. There’s all this snow on the ground, you know, this doesn't mean anything.” I want to just be clear that the science of climate change doesn't mean that every place is getting warmer. It means the planet as a whole is getting warmer. But what it may mean is, for example, Vancouver which supposed to be getting snow during the Olympics, suddenly is at 55 degrees and Dallas suddenly is getting seven inches of snow. The idea is that as the planet as a whole gets warmer, you start seeing changing weather patterns and that creates more violent storm systems, more unpredictable weather. So any single place might end up being warmer. Another place might end up being a little bit cooler. There might end up being more precipitation in the air. More monsoons, more hurricanes, more tornadoes, more drought in some places, floods in other places.
Contrary to wing nut propaganda, a robust snowfall in our nation's capitol does not mean global warming is a myth. A rise in global temperature will create all sorts of strange happenings, including warmer and more frequent dry spells, as well as colder, stormier winters.
Kudos to President Obama for taking advantage of a teachable moment to try and educate a population often bombarded by right wing propaganda denying anthropogenic global warming. For some, no doubt the explanation offered some clarity. Yet for others, no amount of scientific evidence, or scientific consensus, will be convincing. Just as some believe the earth is less than 10,000 years old, or that man never walked on the moon, there will always be those who deny the reality of climate change caused by the activity of human beings: anthropogenic global warming.

Firstly there is no scientific evidence whatsoever of catastrophic wrming. None. There is an unproven & indeed untested hypothesis - that is it.

I have asked journalists, politicians & alarmist lobbyists now totalling in the thousands to name 2 prominent scientists, not funded by government or an alarmist lobby who have said that we are seeing a catastrophic degree of warming & none of them have yet been able to do so. I extend this same invitation here.
There is not & never was a genuine scientific consensus on this, though scientists seeking government funds have been understandably reluctant to speak. If there were anything approaching a consensus it with over 31,000 scientists having signed the Oregon petition saying it is bunk, it would be easy to find a similar number of independent scientists saying it was true, let alone 2.
The IPCC's own Phil Jones admitted last week there has been no significant warming in the past 15 years. This is the same guy that all of the UN and Global waring Alarmists AR4 2007 report is based on. Obama is a liar.
