Former Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean, making an appearance on "Fox News Sunday" today, offered an endorsement of Newt Gingrich's presidential aspirations and called Fox News "racist" in its handling of the Shirley Sherrod charade.
Dean, Former Vermont Governor and one time presidential hopeful took direct aim at Fox News for its irresponsible involvement in the Shirley Sherrod affair.
About Gingrich, a leading conservative Republican, Dean said he has "a ton of ideas to move the country forward."
"There are no ideas in the Republican Party right now in the Congress," Dean said. "They're the party of 'no.' They desperately need some intellectual leadership. And whatever you think of Newt Gingrich, he can supply intellectual leadership. So I hope he does run. "
About the Sherrod charade Dean said:
"They (Fox News) had an obligation to find out what was really in the clip. They had been pushing a theme of black racism with this phony Black Panther crap and this business and this Sotomayor and all this other stuff.
The Tea Party called out their racist fringe and I think the Republican Party’s got to stop appealing to its racist fringe. And Fox News is what did that. You put that on. Continuing to cater to this theme of minority racism and stressing comments like this — some of which are taken out of context — does not help the country knit itself together.”
Kudos to Dean for calling Fox News out on their incessant and omnipresent racism. The network is an intellectual cesspool, bereft of moral compass. All good people should stand up against the onslaught of malicious racial propaganda coming from Fox News.

After Howard Dean made that charge, Wallace lit into him about the facts of the timing of the video. Dean looked very uncomfortable after that knowing he had as usual gone to far. Sherrod was sacked by her employer BEFORE any video aired on cable anywhere. Did Howard Dean know that? Apparently not. The guilty are those in the Obama administration that asked her for her resignation before allowing her to defend herself. Their reasons are absurd. They feared Glen Beck. How utterly ridiculous. There is a red phone on the set. They could always call in and set the record straight instead of fearing him. He is after all ONLY a show host.
