Rush Limbaugh: selling Middle Class America its own destruction

I could care less about Rush Limbaugh's political views.  My beef with Rush is he pretends to understand his listeners while shamelessly selling them the pack of lies that destroys them economically.

In the 1970's Conservatives decided that Middle Class America's lifestyle needed to be downsized so that they could have larger profits.  The Chamber of Commerce and The Business Roundtable decided that the hardest selling job would be getting Middle Class America to go along with our own economic destruction.

The advertising con that they created was that unions were the root of all evil and government taxes and regulations not absolute greed, arrogance, and selfishness on the part of wealthy Americans was behind the slowly diminishing lifestyle of Middle Class America. Rush Limbaugh has been their ultimate pitchman.

What all of Limbaugh's self professed' " Ditto Heads," need to understand is that Globalization is not some immutable concept that is bigger than average Americans jobs,  wages, families and lifestyles.  It was a purposeful low wage con.  Corporate America has held us all hostage with its claims that we strip away all regulations, strip away taxes, and finance the move of good paying jobs to low wage countries like China to be competitive in a Global economy that is of Corporate America's own creation. We could have made different choices but were sold this bill of goods. We could have chosen alternatives more in keeping with our national values but we were given profits before people as the ultimate good. and as the ultimate solution.

Lets face it we have no two party system.  That pathetic bought and paid for moron, Max Baucus from my party is just as sold out to corporate insurance and banking interests as Tom Delay ever was. Republican or Democrat there is in reality only one party,  I choose to call them all the Greedocrats.

If you have read todays on line news you perhaps have seen that the banks are about to sell more mortgage junk just as they did the first time,  requiring us to bail out the toxic assets they squandered by sub prime.  Once again, like I have been saying in this column, because we put no new rules in place governing the financial sector of our nation they are going to repeat the same greedy mistakes hoping to make another killing at our expense and get all 435 corporate flunkies in our Congress they hire with campaign contributions,  to cough up more tax dollars. That is privatized profits but socialized losses.  Limbaugh is all for Socialism as long as it is bailing out his corporate sponsor's

Rush Limbaugh, the modern day P.T. Barnum, as in looking at Middle Class America, and saying to himself there's a few million born every minute,  pretends for another day to be on your side.  He reminds me of all the old time vender's coming into town  in their wagons full of patented tonics, as he sits behind his golden mike selling the economic snake oil that creates stockholder benefits huge corporate profits and CEO bonuses but turns our nation into a third world country.

When he goads America into believing we need less regulation from government, the result is that the air gets a little dirtier, the water a little less clean, our food becomes a little more tainted with salmonella, our workplaces become a little more dangerous and our standard of living becomes cheaper.

When he rants about union bosses and you believe you would never need a union,  that is only for communists, realize that we all become a little more powerless in the system.  We have a little less input into what happens to us politically.  You lose more rights in the workplace.  Your wage goes down a little more.  There are more requirements for mandatory overtime and more job losses at the whim of the employer so that the employer has the rights and you and I have all the responsibilities.

Corporate CEO's, The Chamber of Commerce and all those including Limbaugh  have sold you into believing that being Non Union proves you are a real American, the operative phrase should be a real gullible American.  They are anti-union because in our money driven privatized system of campaign finance, Unions were one of the few institutions that enabled the Middle Class to have input,  because Unions would aggregate their donations so that they could successfully compete for the attention of law makers and they could deliver their voters either for you or against you.  They were a threat to unlimited management power.  We will never get the money out of politics,  but unions leveled the playing field so that there was more than one political voice. The wealthy laugh at your gullibility as they lift your wallet today and Limbaugh tells you you should like it.

The less taxes, less government equals more freedom mantra never meant you and I even though Limbaugh and his band of phonies pretended it did.  Most of us aren't rich enough nor will we ever be, to benefit from the ideas Limbaugh, Fox News and others sell many of us as gospel.  I have always thought the whole religious component of modern Conservatism as practiced by Limbaugh and the rest of Right Wing Talk Radio is to sell us on the idea of our rewards being in the afterlife as they steal all of our wages and home equity in the present life.

For me personally one of the most despicable things Right Wing Talk radio has done is convince many of us that the problem of illegal immigration is the illegal immigrants.  As working people ourselves I never begrudge a working person feeding their family.  If the situation was reversed I imagine I would find most of you swimming across the Rio Grande with me.

Lost in this fraudulent debate is the fact that Corporate America was recruiting and employing illegal aliens as fast as they could get them,  to have a low wage workforce to exploit since the jobs couldn't be shipped overseas.  These were never jobs Americans wouldn't do;  they were jobs Corporate America didn't want to pay for.  They used the immigrants as a low wage work force, as a wedge political issue to keep Middle Class America divided, and in the process drove all of our wages down a little more.  We need to demand accountability from Corporate America;  they broke the law something like 12 to 20 million times daily among their other crimes and no one has been charged. Limbaugh and others would have you believe all you need is a big high fence and all will be well, just like the magicians assistant so you won't see the sleight of hand  as they keep destroying your economic options.

Limbaugh is very smart.  He understands the psychology of sales very well.  He pretends to understand.  He pretends to be one of us,  railing at the evils of the very institutions that have protected Middle Class America,  then convincing us that our economic destruction is exactly what we all need until we are rendered so powerless we can't get back up.

I fully understand not believing Liberal media, the problem is you swallow the proverbial kool aid unquestionably from Right Wing media.  You " Dittoheads" need to be completely skeptical of all media because they are all little more then propaganda arms of a political and economic system that has been feeding on us the way Count Dracula draws blood.

Of course you are correct. I do believe, however, that Barnum's dictum abut not being able to fool all of the people all of the time applies in this case.

Have any of you benefited from the protection of a Union? My father suffered from a long term illness. Today he would have been canned no matter how great a worker he was and how he dedicated 40 years of his life to the company. His job was protected by his union during his illnesses and he was able to feed us and save enough to put me through college. How many of you would be so lucky today. Think for one second the state of the US today. In a decade under 5% of the nation will have all the money and what will we need the other 95% for? Perhaps we can kill many of them off with a pandemic. We only need the executives to organize the shipping of goods and services from China then enough whips to sell it here and buy the cheap trash, the rest are dead weight to the economy. Then NEED to keep the majority on the edge of poverty to sell their crap!
Stupid ignorant fools you all are, as long as it is not happening in your own backyards...well lets see how long you all keep those yards
