Glenn Beck admires NJ Governor Chris Christie

When it comes to being over-the-top insane on a nightly basis, Glenn Beck not only takes the cake, he takes the whole bakery. The so-called conservative TV and radio personality has ruffled so many sane and fully functional feathers with his bizarre antics and inflammatory rhetoric, especially with his latest Million Moron March on the Lincoln Memorial, that not even Charles Manson would agree to interview with him. For example, Beck has said the governor espouses "common sense porn". Well, there certainly is some screwing going on of the common.

It seems that Beck has been lobbying hard to get the conservative darling of NJ on his program but that Christie has reportedly declined on multiple occasions.

The governor's office has fielded repeated requests, The Auditor is told, but they keep turning Beck down as so many advertisers have. One would think that Christie would be jumping (rolling) for joy to appear on Beck's nightly telecast given his embrace of the carnival-esque teabagger movement in his state of NJ.

On June 15th, for example,  Christie appeared at a town hall meeting in Perth Amboy, New Jersey and appeared before a crowd that seemed to represent the teabagger movement.

"Our way of life is being challenged by an economy where we have too much debt, too big a government, too much spending and taxes being too high. We all know it in our hearts…we all understand that the day of reckoning is here." said Christie.

Well there certainly no arguing with that statement as we continue to see our once proud and robust economy being hijacked by a shady cabal of wall street hucksters and their bought bureacratic banksters in Washington. But perhaps the governor should have been paying more attention to the radical, runaway domestic spending and deficit creating actions on the part of his buddy George Bush.

Here are the facts:

•President Bush began a string of expensive finan­cial bailouts, which  President Obama has accelerated and seems to think is working.

•President Bush created a Medicare drug entitle­ment that will cost an estimated $800 billion in its first decade.

President Obama has proposed a $634 billion down payment on a new govern­ment health care fund.

•President Bush tilted the income tax burden more toward upper-income taxpayers.

•President Bush presided over a $2.5 trillion increase in the public debt through 2008. Setting aside 2009 (for which Presidents Bush and Obama share responsibility for an additional $2.6 trillion in public debt), President Obama's budget would add $4.9 trillion in public debt from the beginning of 2010 through 2016. 

So it would seem that a lion's share of blame should go to Bush for driving us down this slippery path towards bankruptcy. And yes, Obama hasn't been very instrumental in stopping corporate America's takeover of our democracy either, however. Christie, like his buddy Bush, is a leach for corporate America and, like his buddy bush, cares only about the top 2 percent and is stubbornly married to Reaganomics despite its ever so self-evident failures.

Getting back to the original story.

Much like everything that goes down in Jersey, one might venture to guess that Christie's refusal to appear on Beck's program has little if anything to do with any dislike of Beck. Rather, Christie is governor of a largely Democratic and fairly liberal state and the mere appearance on Beck's show could hurt him in the polls here. Yep, politics as usual.
