WWE Smackdown Spoilers for 11/27/09

Tonight, we get a new #1 contender!

Chris Jericho demands to be in tonight’s #1 contender match, but Teddy Long books him against the Undertaker, non-title instead.

Jericho already has a match at the Pay Per View, but apparently they’re now bound and determined to devalue all first time matches.

The Hart Dynasty defeats Cryme Tyme.

A mild-way of getting heat for D-X beating them on Raw.

Vickie Guerrero demands Eric Escobar get an Intercontinental Title match tonight.  Long agrees, but it’ll be Escobar’s one shot.

Escobar has been off television for awhile.  Suddenly, Vickie cares he’s alive again in a big way… this kind of thing really takes away from my suspension of disbelief.

CM Punk brings out Festus and a brown paper bag.  He says Festus was in the shape he was in due to pharmaceutical dugs.  In the bag is the Jeff Hardy DVD. 

Looks like we get Festus as Punk’s bodyguard, as has been long rumored.

Matt Hardy defeats CM Punk via disqualification after Festus interferes. They both then beat on Matt.

Good, that little prick deserves it.

Mickie James says she won’t leave Smackdown regardless of how juvenile Michelle McCool and Layla get mocking her.

Sounds like an invitation for more mocking.

Batista defeats Kane by count-out to become #1 contender.

So, Batista vs. Undertaker version 57921.  At least Batista is a heel now so they can pretend it’s different.  Bet you this won’t be a ladder match.

John Morrison defeats Eric Escobar.  Vickie then yells at, slaps and spits on Escobar, who in turn says he made her sick and they’re broken up.

Wow, Vickie and Escobar being paired was clearly a mistake.  What a waste of time.

The Undertaker defeats Chris Jericho via disqualification as Jericho was in position for a tombstone, Batista ran in.

I hate disqualifications at that point in matches.  We all knew Jericho was losing by then- the run in should just have been after the bell!

Overall, this isn’t a huge Smackdown, which makes sense since Friday night is the party night of the year, though if you want to see if Escobar can really work, this is your chance.
