Hulk Hogan has been speaking of signing pretty much every Monday Night Wars era star, including "Stone Cold" atop his wish list of stars to lure away from the WWE. It appears, however, that idea won't be happening. Although Austin would be a huge coup for the January 4 TNA show, which will go head-to-head with Monday Night Raw, he will not be appearing on the Monday Impact.
Austin is currently under what is described as a "high money" contract with the WWE for doing, essentially nothing. Austin is currently being paid to stay home and do nothing, under no obligations to the WWE, but not allowed, obviously to work for the competition. The feeling within the company, and this is clearly especially
poignant with Hulk Hogan in TNA and huge signings coming left and right, is that keeping Austin under obligation to the company is the wisest course of action.
