What could this mean?
When Shane McMahon first left the WWE, a large number of people’s assumption was that he would be helping his mother, Linda McMahon, run for senate in a preparation for a life in politics itself. While still a possibility, unless the UFC wants to run in Connecticut, then that no longer seems likely.
A vocal minority believed that Shane was going to start an MMA promotion, since that’s where his heart is. Meeting with White wouldn’t suggest that, though it might denote him potentially coming to work for the industry leader, UFC. Besides invested his not inconsiderable cash flow, what could he actually offer the UFC, however?
Being a McMahon, Shane is doubtless a good promoter and could help get the word out for the product while also being a creative guy, partially responsible for the wildly successful Attitude era of the WWF, in helping to develop television, promotional and issues between fighters. The problem with this is that he comes from the stigmatized world of the WWE. Would that limit his appeal to UFC and the general public? With UFC recently undergoing two huge controversial fights, in Shogun vs. Machida and Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin, Dana White might not consider now the time to bring Shane in, since it would only further suspicion of the UFC, which might, in turn, force Shane to begin his own promotion.
Of course, none of this is guaranteed. Dana White could merely have heard Shane had interest and invited him in for a feeling out. Shane might invest in UFC and continue on another path. There are a multitude of possibilities here. More on each as they break.

What was controversial about Griffin V Silva??
Silva won via a pretty clear KO.
James- check the link.
But that is a controversary you made up with no proof, not one actually felt in the MMA community.
Actually, all you had to do was look at the time. There were quite a few articles like mine.
There was no controversy in the Griffin Silva fight, Griffin just got tooled. And the controversy in the Machida Shogun fight was based on terrible judges decision, and everyone knows or should know the judges are provided by the athletic commission so nothing bad on the UFC there either.
