More on the Sheamus push after WWE Raw

Yesterday, I wrote a column about the push of Sheamus and how I felt it was unfair for him to get such a huge initial push, while guys who work hard are constantly de-pushed in part because of his friendship with Triple H. Since then, on Monday Night Raw, Sheamus was given a massive push, eliminated almost everyone in a Battle Royal after squashing Finlay to earn a title match with John Cena. Sheamus then got the smark push as Jesse Ventura played up John Cena as “the chosen guy with a conspiracy to stay on top” (thus causing a ton of posts like this on mark boards across the world) I had Sheamus as potentially winning Wrestlemania because of his push on my prospective advanced Wrestlemania card, but now I don’t think the WWE waits that long to get the belt on it. With The Big Show, Rey Mysterio and Edge all out with no timetable on their returns, Sheamus will either defeat John Cena outright in their match at the TLC Pay Per View (it being a tables match means he doesn’t even have to pin him) or, at worst, cause a big enough stink that the title is held up for the Royal Rumble. Sheamus, deserving or not, is the WWE’s Next Big Thing… and the Brock Lesnar comparison is entirely intentional. Being Triple H’s friend apparently earns you the push of Brock Lesnar or Goldberg.

I think you're over reacting, Aaron. Sheamus is nowhere near ready for any title, regardless of Triple H's pull.

He will beat the crap out of Cena for three weeks before Cena beats him in the Tables match. Technically he won't be pinned or tap out, so he won't lose any steam.

They're just biding their time with putting Kofi in the main event by having him face Orton one-on-one this month and giving Cena a fresh opponent. December is a throw-away gimmick PPV anyway; the 'E knows it won't have a good buy rate after their last 3 gimmick PPVs bombed.
