When WWE signed Lance Hoyt, then recently released by TNA, I wasn't thrilled. Hoyt is a big, thin man in the mold of a young Test, which is to say he has a million dollar look, great agility, and no charisma or sense of the moment in the ring. Still, as a big guy who could do insane moves like the Van Terminator, if he ever put it together, he's worth the flier to see... unfortunately, so few guys after the start of their career go from athletic to good, it's certainly a long shot.
So Lance Hoyt got a new name and came to WWE as Vance Archer. His debut on ECW, a squash of Logan Jones, wasn't anything special and, at first, seemed pointless. Then I remembered where it was Vance was debuting. ECW is where big men go to learn to work. Koslov went from an absolute train wreck to a servicable monster, while Ezekiel Jackson is learning charisma and timing. Mark Henry went from a slow, unwatchable mess, to a slow, utterly watchable, entertaining giant. If the magic of whoever helps young ECW talent could work on the aforementioned three, Hoyt, with his abundance of tools that those others lack, certainly could really develop.
So Hoyt is, right now, certainly a below average wrestler, but he does have well above average tools. He's in the right place to mold those tools, ECW, and is a superstar worth keeping an eye on.

Too bad Marcus Cor Von couldn't stick around. He really could have been something.
To be honest, I don't see any improvement of Kozlov and Jackson at all. I do not find them entertaining. I don't like their matches...how they are structured and executed. And they will never be anything in WWE I guarantee you that...just like Lance Hoyt!
Vance will be awesome, you wait and see big things are in store...
Marcus Cor Von was the next big thing in my opinion and did you know he was trained in Stu Hart's dungeon?
As far as Ezekiel Jackson goes you can say what you want about the big man getting over an ECW and learning the intricacies of the sport but this guy has not ran the ropes one time since he debuted in WWE and there is absolutely no excuse for that. He is perhaps the worst active wrestler in the WWE today.
Now as far as Vance Archer goes I think it is absolutely ignorant to say this guy has no chance of succeeding in the WWE. And he really isn't comparable to the other oversized under talented wrestlers ECW has produced in the last year. He is actually athletic we get that considering his size and has shown an ability to have a pretty sick high impact move set. In my opinion the only thing that could hold him down is the WWE machine and his lack of personality. That's where a hot diva could come in and one that can act as a mouthpiec
Part two:
That's where a hot diva could come in and one that can act as a mouthpiece and eye candy. This addition to his personality could work for him immensely and in my opinion the one diva the target and ECW is Rosa Mendez so why not have him steal her away from Zack Ryder once they eventually hook up? This should get him started in ECW and after an angle like this week can all judge him all little bit more. It just occurred to me that Cor Von isn't a big man, in the traditional sense. Dude's 6'2.
ECW is not defunct! NXT is now on TV. My question is... where did Archer and Jackson go? Jackson won the ECW belt on the last episode.
WHERE DID VANCE ARCHER GO ANYWAY DID HE GO BACK TO FCW OR TNA PLEASE E-MAIL ME AT JOCKEYSHORSES1972@YAHOO.COM BECAUSE I HAVE NOT SEEN VANCE SEEN HE WAS ON ECW AND HE WAS SOMETHING AND I LOVED TO WATCH HIM WRESTLE AND ON TOP OF THAT HE IS A CHRISTAIN MAN THAT'S THE ONE ONLY THING THAT LOVE ABOUT VANCE ARCHER IS BECAUSE HE HAS SUCH LOVE OF FOR THE LORD AND SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST SO.
