The next match was Melina challenging “The Glamazon” Beth Phoenix for the WWE Women’s Championship. Beth was accompanied to the ring by her “boyfriend” Santino Marella. In a little jab to pop culture couples like “Brangelina,” Beth and Santino call them themselves “Glamarella.”
The much stronger and bigger Phoenix dominated the first few minutes of the match, demonstrating her power and viciousness. They demonstrated Melina’s flexibility when Phoenix bent Melina’s leg (who was lying on her stomach) all the way to the back of her head. Beth then showed her strength by military pressing Melina overhead.
Despite getting beat up the entire match, Melina caught Beth with a fluke roll-up to win the match and the Championship. Melina is now a three-time Women’s Champion.
