On the November 23rd edition of WWE RAW, Sheamus won the Breakthrough Battle Royal and received a #1 contenders contract for either World Championship belt. Sheamus chose the WWE Title currently held by John Cena. Hosted by Jesse Ventura, Cena and Sheamus had a contract signing which ended with Sheamus brutally attacking Cena.
Is it too soon for Sheamus to fight for the WWE Championship?
I happen to think that WWE has done a great job at bringing along Sheamus perfectly. Sheamus originally debuted on ECW in late June of this year. 5 months later, Sheamus has become a top young heel in a company starving for young talent. The crowd is firmly behind this guy because of his distinct look and aggressive wrestling style.
There are some that complain about Sheamus' fast track to the World title. But these are the same people that complain about watching the same top wrestlers fight for the title at every PPV. WWE finally has made an effort to push younger talent like Sheamus, Kofi, and Miz. So stop complaining. The only thing I'm concerned about is how a loss to Cena will affect Sheamus. He will need a strong showing to keep him on top and avoid the usual WWE creative burial.
Sheamus is here to fight and there's no bigger fight than for the WWE Title.

the sheamus charture is the version of what the hulk was supposed to be 30yrs ago
I think they did rush Sheamus a bit. Either they are going to have him win the title and become another "Goldberg" or if he loses then he will probably get dropped right back down the ladder and replaced with Orton fighting Cena at the Royal Rumble.
I Think wwe did a good job with sheamus, hope they let him win.
He has no personality. I would like to see new stars but do it right. Kofi has 1000X more charisma than Sheamus who is better known as HHH's spotter.
I think that the Sheamus is way 2 GREEN 2 get a shot @ MOST prized Posession in our BIZZ,WWWF/WWF/WWE World Heavyweight Championship has typically been held/Chased by guys like Rogers,Sammartinto,Koloff,Morales,Stasiak,Graham,Backlund,Sheik,Hogan,Andre,Savage,Warrior,Slaughter,Taker,Flair,Hart,Yoko, Deisel,HBK,SID,Austin,Kane,Rock,Foley,HHH,Show,Angle,Jericho,Guerro,JBL,Cena,Edge,RVD,Orton,Hardy,Batista. My point in naming the list of Champs is that these guys had all paid dues in the BIG time b4 they were even given shots @ the gold or in the case of the 1st. few champs had worked there asses off all over the old territories 2 become the TOP guy & worked there way up thru the ranks 2 b the #1 guy.Sheamus getting a shot is great but if VKM puts the GOLD on him is a travisty!he is way 2 green 2 carry the company (remember what a #1 Title did 2 Swagger-KILLED his career he isnt even good enough 2 beat MIZ 4 the often changed US Title) DONT kill SHEAMUS just yet!
Warrior, Deisel, Hart, Sid, Big Show, are the most worthless champions in the history and Sheamus would fall into that category by the Way
Too soon to put a title on him. He hasn't shown the mic' skills that made Rock amd Angle jump to the top. If you can't work the mic', you end up like Kahli or Kozlov. Yeah he's got intensity but, he's not Vader or Sid Vicious. Yeah he's got size but, how well do his moves sell on guys bigger than 5' 9" Jamie Noble? Hogan didn't have lot of moves but they sold well versus Andre, Bundy, Bog John..
Look it about time. This is a good story line. Yea i feel its to soon but damn its better than the same people getting a title shot.
I will complain about HIM getting a title shot this quick, and complain about the same people getting a title shot. Because, they are both bad ideas. I loved Raw, hated when Orton sneaked into the mix. Then when it got close, at least Kofi has been around the top longer and would have been a good person to give the shot to, but not Sheamus.
Funny that your last point contradicts your comment about people complaing both ways. That's why Sheamus shouldn't have a title shot, he's not strong enough to deal with the match or deal with a defeat. I'm sure the WWE will handle it well, but they could have handle it better.
(Sorry for typos, this website box wouldn't let me see what I was typing.)
The WWE is in trouble if this guy is going to headline a PPV versus John Cena.
With all the injuries to the roster, Jeff Hardy leaving, etc the WWE depth is really lacking right now.
I'm ok with him getting a shot, I don't think he will win and I don't think he should, but mixing up the title picture makes sense. With the TLC tag and Batista/Taker, you know this one won't be headlining. Those two matches are big enough that Cena can take a back seat one month. Sheamus' problem is that this is a one on one table match, I just don't see it being all that exciting of a concept so if the match is dull they'll probably blame him even if it's the fault of the match structure itself.
