WWE brought the Raw roster to the Toyota Center on Friday night, as the Raw World Tour rolled through downtown Houston.
To open the show, Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov defeated the team of William Regal and Zack Ryder when Santino hit Regal with the Cobra finisher.
Current United States Champion, The Miz, came out and talked for a few minutes about winning the Money In The Bank match at last Sunday's PPV. The Raw GM then ordered Miz to defend the US Championship against Mark Henry. He picked up the pinfall victory and successfully defended the title.
After Justin Roberts interviewed Gail Kim, Ted DiBiase and Maryse hit the ring. They wanted to offer longtime WWE star Goldust the opportunity to walk away from the match, and offered him a large amount of money. Goldust denied and attacked the Marine 2 star. DiBiase recovered however, and hit Goldust with Dream Street for the win.
Evan Bourne picked up the win over Chris Jericho, with an electric Shooting Star Press.
The WWE Divas were up next, as Alicia Fox defeated Eve Torres with a scissors kick.
After beating each other all over the Toyota Center in a Texas Street Fight, Edge had the match in firm control over Randy Orton. But he missed a spear in the corner, and was met with a trash can and kendo stick to the head. Orton then hit a thunderous RKO in the middle of the ring and picked up the victory.
The main event would see Sheamus defend the WWE Championship against John Cena. The entrance of Cena was nearly deafening. The Raw GM announced that the match would not only be for the title, but that NEXUS would be the lumberjacks for the match. At one point, NEXUS invaded the ring. However the locker room emptied as Team Raw hit the scene. NEXUS bailed out and scattered out of sight. The referee had no choice but to declare the match a No-Contest.
WWE does not have a return date for a house show or live television taping, but are scheduled to return to the Toyota Center in mid-December for their "TLC: Tables, Ladders, & Chairs" event. When tickets are available for the event, you can find information on the WWE website.
