September 5, the New England Revolution lost a tumultuous game at Gillette Stadium 4-2 to the Kansas City Wizards. Josh Wolff scored twice, Edgaras Jankauskas showed his colors with a long-range blast with his team two goals down, Kheli Dube and Claudio Lopez each scored once, Jay Heaps scored an own goal, back-up keeper Brad Knighton filled in for injured Matt Reis, Shalrie Joseph was ejected in the 23rd minute, and referee Jasen Anno got a standing ovation of boos when he left the field.
