Parkville man charged with sex abuse, child pornBaltimore County police arrested a Parkville man, accusing him of sexually abusing a child. Stephen Michael Gayer, 37, is charged with sex abuse of a minor and possession of child pornography. He engaged in sexual acts with children and photographed them nude at his home, police said. Gayer sexually abused a teenager living with him from June 2005 to February 2007 and photographed her nude, police added. Gayer also sexually abused a family member who was 8 years old in October 2006. Investigators said they found child pornography in Gayer’s possession. – Luke Broadwater Woman convicted of selling illegal undersized crabsA Crisfield woman was convicted of selling illegal undersized Chesapeake Bay crabs, U.S. Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod Rosenstein announced on Tuesday. U.S. District Judge Andre Davis ordered Isabel Dryden, owner of N.R. Dryden and Co., to pay a $10,000 fine and forfeit crabs less than 3 inches in length in violation of Maryland law. “Harvesting undersized crabs prevents the crabs from reproducing and jeopardizes the survival of the species,” Rosenstein said in a news release. Dryden also must allow U.S. Fish and Wildlife agents and Natural Resources Police to inspect her facility. – Carolyn Peirce 13-year-old student charged with throwing headphones at teacher in AnnapolisA 13-year-old student was charged with assault after he flung his iPod headphones at a teacher’s face, Annapolis police said Tuesday. The teacher at Adams Academy in Annapolis had told the student to take off his headphones while doing his schoolwork. The student was arrested and released to his father’s custody. – Carolyn Peirce |
