BART BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Agency could name new official in closed session

The BART board of directors will consider naming a new general manager in a closed session today.

Tom Margo held the transit agency’s top job for nearly 11 years but left at the end of June to run the toll operation in Orange County.

Dorothy Dugger, who has worked for BART since September 1992 and had been deputy general manager since April 6, 1994, has served as BART’s interim general manager since July 2.

Dugger applied to become BART’s permanent general manager, but spokesman Linton Johnson declined to say if she’s one of the four finalists for the job.
