City Hall: Committee to decide on Muni measures
SAN FRANCISCO -
A Board of Supervisors committee will vote Thursday on a charter amendment intended to overhaul Muni. Board of Supervisors President Aaron Peskin introduced the charter amendment that includes such provisions as revoking the non-negotiable salary formula, which keeps Muni operators among the highest paid in the nation, and allocating more city revenue to the transit agency. If ultimately approved by at least six members of the Board of Supervisors, the charter amendment would appear on the November ballot. The Board of Supervisors Rules Committee meets Thursday, at 1 p.m., at City Hall, Room 250. Hearing to explore issues on charter school’s lease A Board of Supervisors committee will hold a hearing Thursday on issues surrounding the lease of the Newcomer High School campus. Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier requested the hearing to determine the process used to lease out the school’s campus to the Metro Charter School, where the charter school’s students live and the extent to which public outreach occurred before the lease was signed. The Board of Supervisor’s City Operations and Neighborhood Services Committee meets Thursday, at 2 p.m., at City Hall, Room 263. DEPT.
