Farm Museum recognizes outstanding volunteer
WESTMINSTER, Md. -
The staff of the Carroll County Farm Museum recently awarded Jerry Gottlick his “3,000 hours” pin for volunteering 3,000 hours during the past seven years. Gottlick began visiting the museum while visiting his daughter in Westminster, eventually moving from New Jersey to be closer to her and his grandson. Over the years, while volunteering at the museum, he has become proficient in blacksmithing, tinsmithing, broom making and artifact restoration. “He is also a wonderful help getting ready for the Holiday Tour by putting up the numerous strings of lights that decorate the farmhouse,” a news release stated. Members of the “3,000 Club” include Ellen Alcorn, John Crowl, Dominic and Jayne Dattilio, George Grier, Elmer Harshbarger, Anna Rae Hunter, Johnny Johnston, Anna Leister, Grace Leister, Vera Leister, Edith Lovell, Arthur Merryman, Bob Morris, Matron Shelton and Sarah Zentgraf. The Farm Museum depends on volunteers for artisan work, house tour guides, office help and special events.
