SILVER SPRING, Md. -

Silver Spring-based Discovery Communications fired 200 workers Monday, according to reports.

This represents about 3 percent Discovery’s work force.

Officials with the company said more layoffs are likely. The officials said most of the job losses are concentrated in Silver Spring.
