Annapolis to crack down on noise pollution
Annapolis -

Annapolis police launched a noise abatement program Tuesday in the downtown area.

Responding to citizens’ complaints, the department is hoping to crack down on loud noise from vehicles, particularly motorcycles and car stereos.

Officers will deal with violators on a case-by-case basis, but violators can expect warnings, tickets or even arrests depending on the severity of violations.

The city has an ordinance that prohibits music from being heard more than 50 feet from a vehicle.
